Structural and Functional Analysis of the D614G SARS-CoV-2 Spike Protein Variant.

TLDR
It is shown that D614G was more infectious than the ancestral form on human lung cells, colon cells, and on cells rendered permissive by ectopic expression of human ACE2 or of ACE2 orthologs from various mammals, including Chinese rufous horseshoe bat and Malayan pangolin.

An Intranasal OMV-based vaccine induces high mucosal and systemic protecting immunity against a SARS-CoV-2 infection

TL;DR: In this article, an intranasal COVID-19 subunit vaccine, based on a recombinant, six proline stabilized, D614G spike protein (mC-Spike) of SARS-CoV-2 linked via the LPS-binding peptide sequence mCramp to Outer Membrane Vesicles (OMVs) from Neisseria meningitidis, was developed.
