Method for treating breast cancer with taxane therapy

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors provided a method for treating breast cancer in a subject in need of treatment of breast cancer by measuring the expression of a specific gene in a sample from the subject, determining a growth signature based on the expression gene in the sample, and giving the subject a breast cancer treatment free of a taxane or taxane derivative.
Journal ArticleDOI

Abstract PD18-04: Prognostic implications of PIK3CA mutation by hormone receptor status and intrinsic subtype in early stage HER2-positive breast cancer: a correlative analysis from CALGB 40601

TL;DR: In this paper , the authors studied the prognostic implications of PIK3CA mutations by hormone receptor status and intrinsic subtype in patients with early stage HER2+ breast cancer enrolled in CALGB 40601.
Journal ArticleDOI

Molecular classification of triple-negative tumors

TL;DR: Across all patients, and within TNBC, basal-like tumors were found associated with a higher likelihood of achieving a complete pathological response (pCR) than the rest of the subtypes, including the claudin-low, which points to intratumor cell heterogeneity as a possible explanation, where resistant and aggressive cell clones might already exist in the pretreated tumor.

A class of GATA3 mutation reprograms the breast cancer transcriptional network through gain and loss of function

TL;DR: Mutation of one allele of GATA3 led to loss of binding and decreased expression at a subset of genes, including Progesterone Receptor, and gain of binding at a novel sequence motif correlated with increased gene expression.
