TLDR
Based on studies of human PDAC samples and KPC mice, activated PSCs appear to reduce migration of CD8(+) T cells to juxtatumoral stromal compartments, preventing their access to cancer cells.About:

Alteration of pancreatic cancer cell functions by tumor-stromal cell interaction
TL;DR: Conventional therapies targeting cancer cells alone have failed to conquer pancreatic cancer, but targeting the stromal cells and immune cells in animal experiments has provided evidence of improved therapeutic responses, and a combination of novel strategies altering stronal cell functions could contribute to improving the pancreaticcancer prognosis.

TL;DR: It is demonstrated using orthogonal approaches that PDAC-derived CAFs are highly dependent on SLC7A11 for cystine uptake and glutathione synthesis, and that SLC 7A11 inhibition significantly decreases their proliferation, reduces their resistance to oxidative stress and inhibits their ability to remodel collagen and support PDAC cell growth.
