Abstract: Reasoning about human motion is an important prerequisite to safe and socially-aware robotic navigation. As a result, multi-agent behavior prediction has become a core component of modern human-robot interactive systems, such as self-driving cars. While there exist many methods for trajectory forecasting, most do not enforce dynamic constraints and do not account for environmental information (e.g., maps). Towards this end, we present Trajectron++, a modular, graph-structured recurrent model that forecasts the trajectories of a general number of diverse agents while incorporating agent dynamics and heterogeneous data (e.g., semantic maps). Trajectron++ is designed to be tightly integrated with robotic planning and control frameworks; for example, it can produce predictions that are optionally conditioned on ego-agent motion plans. We demonstrate its performance on several challenging real-world trajectory forecasting datasets, outperforming a wide array of state-of-the-art deterministic and generative methods.

Abstract: The optimum detector under a fixed delay constraint D is derived for channels having memory and additive noise. The resulting receiver is recursive and does not grow with the message length. Its structure is presented for linear channels (AM and PSK) with known (or estimated) impulse response and noise statistics. The intersymbol interference is assumed to extend for L sampling periods and the receiver is allowed a "look-ahead" at D future received samples. Simulation results using actual channel characteristics show the detector to outperform a transversal equalizer even for relatively small values of D.

Abstract: Integral control of large-scale systems implies coordination of activities by information exchange via communication networks. Usually these networks are shared with other users. Thus traffic conditions in the network may introduce time-varying random delays in the control loop with adverse effects on its performance and stability. Hence, the control must be designed to compensate for these delays. Recent work in modelling integrated control and communication systems has shown that the communication specific phenomena inducing random communication delays (such as multirate sampling, vacant sampling and message rejection) may be encompassed by finite-dimensional linear discrete-time models, provided that the plant and the controller are linear and time invariant.
