TL;DR: In this paper, a polypyrrole-aluminum oxide composite film is produced on the aluminum surface on top of a porous aluminum oxide film in the galvanostatic oxidation mode by the electrochemical synthesis method.
Abstract: Using the method of electrochemical anodization, aluminum oxide porous films are obtained in a sulfuric acid solution. The morphology of the aluminum oxide surface is studied by the method of scanning electron microscopy. The high-quality elemental analysis of the initial and oxidized Al films is performed using the method of electron microprobe analysis. A protective composite polypyrrole-aluminum oxide film is produced on the aluminum surface on top of a porous aluminum oxide film in the galvanostatic oxidation mode by the electrochemical synthesis method. The properties of the polypyrrole–aluminum oxide composite film are studied by the methods of voltammetry, as well as impedance and FTIR spectroscopy.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present a literature review on Project-Based Learning (PBL) and discuss PBL's implementation opportunities and challenges faced by academic staff, business representatives and students.
Abstract: It has long been acknowledged that effective learning is grounded on opportunities to explore problems and think critically, thus creating solid base for knowledge economy development In this vein, there have been concentrated reform initiatives across many content areas that have integrated authentic and student-driven instructional approaches Within the context of the 21st century education paradigm, the acquisition and development of new competencies and technical skills require new authentic learning methods The growing popularity of the project-based learning paradigm, is related to extended opportunities in terms of knowledge attainment, facilitating the acquisition of several transversal competences such as team work, search and collection of information and synthesis and analysis abilities However, PBL learning strategies should be developed in compliance with the educational challenges faced by the new technique’s implementation In the light of this reasoning, this paper presents a literature review on PBL and discusses PBL’s implementation opportunities and challenges faced by academic staff, business representatives and students A key point is to highlight the concept of networking among teachers, students and the business sector

TL;DR: A model formulation based on Steiner tree problem (STP) constructs and enhanced by the reformulation-linearization technique (RLT) yielded the best performance in solving the problem of designing and allocating coastal seaspace sectors for steady-state patrolling operations by the vessels of a maritime protection agency.
Abstract: In this paper, we model and solve the problem of designing and allocating coastal seaspace sectors for steady-state patrolling operations by the vessels of a maritime protection agency. The problem addressed involves optimizing a multi-criteria objective function that minimizes a weighted combination of proportional measures of the vessels’ distances between home ports and patrol sectors, the sector workload, and the sector span. We initially assure contiguity of each patrol sector in our mixed-integer programming formulation via an exponential number of subtour elimination constraints, and then propose three alternative solution methods, two of which are based on reformulations that suitably replace the original contiguity representation with a polynomial number of constraints, and a third approach that employs an iterative cut generation procedure based on identifying violated subtour elimination constraints. We further enhance these reformulations with symmetry defeating constraints, either in isolation or in combination with a suitable perturbation of the objective function using weighted functions based on such constraints. Computational comparisons are provided for solving the problem using the original formulation versus either of our three alternative solution approaches for a representative instance. Overall, a model formulation based on Steiner tree problem (STP) constructs and enhanced by the reformulation-linearization technique (RLT) yielded the best performance.

TL;DR: In this article, a new relationship of displacement signal using opposite sectors on a quadrant photodiode is derived, and the sensitivity of the system to the displacement of the spot increases and, hence, provides better accuracy in positioning up to 30%.
