TLDR
Comparison of mice lacking either type I or type II IFN receptors showed that, at least in response to some viruses, both IFN systems are essential for antiviral defense and are functionally nonredundant.Abstract:
Mice lacking the known subunit of the type I interferon (IFN) receptor were completely unresponsive to type I IFNs, suggesting that this receptor chain is essential for type I IFN-mediated signal transduction. These mice showed no overt anomalies but were unable to cope with viral infections, despite otherwise normal immune responses. Comparison of mice lacking either type I or type II IFN receptors showed that, at least in response to some viruses, both IFN systems are essential for antiviral defense and are functionally nonredundant.read more

ZBP1/DAI Drives RIPK3-Mediated Cell Death Induced by IFNs in the Absence of RIPK1.
Justin P. Ingram,Roshan J. Thapa,Amanda Fisher,Bart Tummers,Ting Zhang,Chaoran Yin,Diego A. Rodriguez,Hongyan Guo,Rebecca Lane,Riley Williams,Michael Slifker,Suresh H. Basagoudanavar,Glenn F. Rall,Christopher P. Dillon,Douglas R. Green,William J. Kaiser,Siddharth Balachandran +16 more
TL;DR: It is shown that Z-form nucleic acid binding protein 1 (ZBP1; also known as DAI) drives IFN-stimulated cell death in settings of RIPK1 deficiency, which implicate ZBP1 as the dominant activator of IFn-driven RIPK3 activation and perinatal lethality in the absence of RIPk1.

Early control of HIV replication in primary HIV-1 infection treated with antiretroviral drugs and pegylated IFN alpha: results from the Primoferon A (ANRS 086) Study.

TL;DR: Tolerance was good, and this regimen allowed the early control of HIV replication and rapid decay of the viral reservoir, and these results support the initiation of comparative studies with pegylated INF alpha in primary HIV infection.

Possible Involvement of the Double-Stranded RNA-Binding Core Protein ςA in the Resistance of Avian Reovirus to Interferon
José Martínez-Costas,Claudia González-López,Vikram N. Vakharia,Javier Benavente,Javier Benavente +4 more
TL;DR: The results raise the interesting possibility that protein ςA antagonizes the IFN-induced cellular response against avian reovirus by blocking the intracellular activation of enzyme pathways dependent on ds RNA, as has been suggested for several other viral dsRNA-binding proteins.

Polymorphisms of IL-1B, IL-1RN, IL-2, IL-4, IL-6, IL-10, and IFN-γ genes in the Korean population

TL;DR: The polymorphisms of cytokine genes, which had been previously reported to be associated with a number of immune diseases, transplant complications, and direct or indirect influences on the level of expression and production, were investigated in 311 unrelated healthy Korean individuals.

TL;DR: This data indicates that activation of both CD4+ T and CD8+ T cells is triggered by the engagement of the T cell antigen receptor with MHC/peptide complexes on antigen‐presenting cells, which requires other molecular interactions, which transmit co‐stimulatory signals to these T cells.

Various rat adult tissues express only one major mRNA species from the glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate-dehydrogenase multigenic family
TL;DR: This sequence allowed the determination of the hitherto unknown primary structure of rat GAPDH which is 333 aminoacids long and revealed a high degree of sequence conservation at both nucleotide and protein levels.
