TL;DR: Zheng et al. as mentioned in this paper calculated the extreme wind speed with return period of 50-yr and 100-yr (U100) in each season and annual value by using the ERA-interim gust data and the Gumbel curve method, and the China seas were taken as case studies.
Abstract: Zheng, C.W.; Liang, F.; Yao, J.L.; Dai, J.C.; Gao, Z.S.; Hou, T.T., and Xiao, Z.N., 2020. Seasonal extreme wind speed and gust wind speed: A case study of the China seas. In: Zheng, C.W.; Wang, Q.; Zhan, C., and Yang, S.B. (eds.), Air-Sea Interaction and Coastal Environments of the Maritime and Polar Silk Roads. Journal of Coastal Research, Special Issue No. 99, pp. 435-438.Previous researches have made great contribution to the evaluation of annual extreme wind speed and annual gust wind speed. However, the research on the extreme wind speed and gust wind speed of different season is extremely scarce, which is urgently needed in disaster prevention and reduction, navigation, ocean exploitation, etc. This study calculates the extreme wind speed with return period of 50-yr (U50) and 100-yr (U100) in each season and annual value by using the ERA-interim gust data and the Gumbel curve method, and the China seas were taken as case studies. The results show that, (1) Both the annual U50 and U100 have a good consistency with the multi-year average maximum gust as a whole, with the large area mainly located in the mid-low latitude (15°∼30°N) and the large center is located in the broad ocean surrounding the Volcano Islands (35-55 m/s in maximum gust, 50-75 m/s in U50 and U100). (2) The maximum gust, U50 and U100 exhibit noticeable seasonal difference. The large areas in January are located in the mid-high latitude, about north of 20°N, including the Japan Sea, south waters of Japan, Ryukyu Islands. The large areas in April are located in the mid-high latitude (north of 25°N) and the south of Volcano Islands, while in the broad ocean between 15°N and 30°N in both July and October.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors applied the torch-brazing method to join AR500 steel with AA7075 aluminium alloy using Al-Si-Zn base filler metal at various flame times.
Abstract: The joining of aluminium alloys to steels has been extensively studied, especially in the automotive sector. However, aluminium alloys are known to be difficult to join with steels when methods involving fusion welding are used because of the hot cracking problem. Hence, a high-strength joint between these dissimilar metals would be of benefit especially in reducing the weight of products. In this work, the torch-brazing method was applied to join AR500 steel with AA7075 aluminium alloy using Al–Si–Zn base filler metal at various flame times. The effects of the brazing work on the intermetallic phase formation and the mechanical strength of the joints were investigated. In this work, the maximum shear load obtained was 6460 N and the presence of the intermetallic phases had reduced the shear strength of the brazed joints. However, the torch-brazing process using Al–Si–Zn filler metal had successfully facilitated the joining of these dissimilar metals.

TL;DR: The study found a significant difference between the quality of life among cancer patients and job, stage of cancer, size of tumor, and radiotherapy significantly influenced the women QoL.
Abstract: Breast cancer is the most common cancer among women and an increasingly important issue is to evaluate quality of life (QoL) among these patients. The objective of this study was to appreciate the QoL and associated factors among breast cancer women undergoing different types of therapy. A cross-sectional study was carried out among 166 breast cancer women from two specialized centres in Baghdad, Iraq, from February 2014 to December 2014. The questionnaire used in this study was “The Functional Assessment of Cancer Therapy-Breast (FACT-B)”. The majority were employee (60.3%), with high school education (63.2%), with no family history of cancer (79.5%). Majority were diagnosed with grade II (56.6%) and tumor size less than 2 cm in diameter (95.8%). The majority of women underwent mastectomy (98.2%), received chemotherapy, radiotherapy, and Tamoxifen therapy (89.8%, 29.5%, and 36.1%; respectively). The study found a significant difference between the quality of life among cancer patients and job, stage of cancer, size of tumor, and radiotherapy. Job, stage of cancer, size of tumor, and radiotherapy significantly influenced the women QoL. Therefore, more attention on these variables is highly recommended when dealing with breast cancer patients undergoing different types of therapy

TL;DR: An axiomatic definition of strict intuitionistic fuzzy entropy (SIFE) and four constraint requirements are proposed in this paper and the experiment result shows that the proposed vulnerability evaluation method is a feasible multi-expert evaluation fusing model.
Abstract: By analyzing existing construction methods of intuitionistic fuzzy entropy (IFE), the entropies of intuitionistic fuzzy numbers cannot be distinguished when membership function equals non-membership function. The generalization performance of traditional IFE is insufficient. To overcome the limitation of IFE definition, referencing classical mathematic strict comparison operation, an axiomatic definition of strict intuitionistic fuzzy entropy (SIFE) and four constraint requirements are proposed in this paper. Firstly, two SIFE construction methods are proposed and their constraint requirements are certified. Secondly, a general formula is extracted from the novel construction methods. Thirdly, combining vulnerability evaluation model and SIFE theory, IFE is applied in the network information security field. The proposed evaluation model is deployed in the common vulnerability scoring system to evaluate Apache Web Server chunked encoding remote overflow vulnerability. The experiment result shows that the proposed vulnerability evaluation method is a feasible multi-expert evaluation fusing model.

TL;DR: An information model, which reflects the general procedure for solving the problem of choosing rational variants of design solutions in the design of special information and communication systems is considered, and the customer’s preferences are formulated as a set of quantitative and qualitative characteristics combined in the customer's profile.
Abstract: An information model, which reflects the general procedure for solving the problem of choosing rational variants of design solutions in the design of special information and communication systems is considered. The problem is presented as a problem of multicriteria choice of alternatives. An important aspect of the proposed information model is the customer’s preferences, which are formulated as a set of quantitative and qualitative characteristics and combined in the customer’s profile.
