Abstract
During the past decade, design-based research has demonstrated its potential as a methodology suitable to both research and design of technology-enhanced learning environments (TELEs). In this paper, we define and identify characteristics of design-based research, describe the importance of design-based research for the development of TELEs, propose principles for implementing design-based research with TELEs, and discuss future challenges of using this methodology. Las situaciones escolares en escena: aportes a la formación docente en educación sexual integral

TL;DR: In this article, the authors present an approach based on the teatro-imagen, which allows to abordar las situaciones escolares con and desde los cuerpos, exponiendo dimensiones de la sexualidad frecuentemente silenciadas in la escuela.

Using Fathom® statistical education software in high school to examine students' acceptance of virtual simulation and use of simulation to model sample size when sampling from large and infinite populations

AF Bill
TL;DR: The study suggests that Fathom is suitable for Year 9 students, but recommends further research in the use of re-sampling to exploit fully the software’s potential and concludes that a process of statistical enquiry may be used both to promote acceptance of virtual simulation and to foster the development of statistical “habits of mind.”

Technology enhanced learning in a higher education context – Building bridges by student empowerment and regional development

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors describe how and to what extent an institute of higher education can support learners and local actors in taking advantage of the new social networking services in virtual spaces.

The development of a professional development intervention for mathematical problem-solving pedagogy in a localised context

TL;DR: The first iteration of a classroom-based design research project as mentioned in this paper endeavours to design a professional development intervention for teachers' mathematical problem-solving pedagogy, and the major outcome of this study is the generation of design principles that can be used by other researchers developing professional development interventions.

Review of Recommender Systems for Learners in Mobile Social/Collaborative Learning

TL;DR: This paper surveys relevant literature, and proposes recommender systems that can be implemented in mobile social/collaborative learning to solve problems involving the recommendation of relevant social data and learning materials for learners.

Design Experiments: Theoretical and Methodological Challenges in Creating Complex Interventions in Classroom Settings

TL;DR: The lion's share of my current research program is devoted to the study of learning in the blooming, buzzing confusion of inner-city classrooms, and central to the enterprise is that the classroom must function smoothly as a learning environment before the authors can study anything other than the myriad possible ways that things can go wrong.

Participatory Action Research

TL;DR: Whyte as discussed by the authors discusses the role of the social scientist in participatory action research in agricultural research and development in the context of agricultural data collection and data sharing in the field of agricultural research.

Design Experiments in Educational Research

TL;DR: Design experiments have both a pragmatic bent and a theoretical orientation as mentioned in this paper, developing domain-specific theories by systematically studying those forms of learning and the means of supporting them, and the authors clarify what is involved in preparing for and carrying out a design experiment, and conduct a retrospective analysis of the extensive, longitudinal data sets generated during an experiment.
