Abstract
During the past decade, design-based research has demonstrated its potential as a methodology suitable to both research and design of technology-enhanced learning environments (TELEs). In this paper, we define and identify characteristics of design-based research, describe the importance of design-based research for the development of TELEs, propose principles for implementing design-based research with TELEs, and discuss future challenges of using this methodology. The case of middle and high school chemistry teachers implementing technology: using the concerns-based adoption model to assess change processes

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors applied the Concerns-Based Adoption Model (CBAM) to examine whether and how it could be used to identify chemistry teachers' concerns, and to characterize the process of change they experience when integrating TELE.

Innovative Pedagogical Processes Involving Educational Technology: Creating Motivating Learning Through Game Design and Teacher Competence Development in a Hybrid Synchronous Video-Mediated Learning Environment

TL;DR: In this article, the authors present and discuss findings about how students, teachers, and the organization experience a start-up-project applying videoconferences between campus and home, based on interviews, on utterances in feedback sessions, and on the observed interaction taking place in the first sixths month of 2013.

Design Experiments: Theoretical and Methodological Challenges in Creating Complex Interventions in Classroom Settings

TL;DR: The lion's share of my current research program is devoted to the study of learning in the blooming, buzzing confusion of inner-city classrooms, and central to the enterprise is that the classroom must function smoothly as a learning environment before the authors can study anything other than the myriad possible ways that things can go wrong.

Design Experiments in Educational Research

TL;DR: Design experiments have both a pragmatic bent and a theoretical orientation as mentioned in this paper, developing domain-specific theories by systematically studying those forms of learning and the means of supporting them, and the authors clarify what is involved in preparing for and carrying out a design experiment, and conduct a retrospective analysis of the extensive, longitudinal data sets generated during an experiment.
