Journal Article

Understanding barriers to drug delivery: high resolution in vivo imaging is key.

TL;DR: In this issue of Clinical Cancer Research, Lankelma et al. report on doxorubicin gradients in biopsies of breast tumors from patients, finding the gradients are pronounced 2 h after i.v. injection and become negligible 24 h later.
Journal ArticleDOI

Mice Lacking E-Selection Show Normal Numbers of Rolling Leukocytes but Reduced Leukocyte Stable Arrest on Cytokine-Activated Microvascular Endothelium

TL;DR: The role of E‐selectin in blood leukocyte interactions with microvascular endothelium in vivo is examined and it is shown that E‐ selectin mediates transient interactions between leukocytes and cytokine‐activated endothelia in vitro.
Journal ArticleDOI

Extravascular transport in normal and tumor tissues

TL;DR: Various types of experimental tumor models which have been used in animals to represent human tumors are discussed and mathematical models of extravascular transport are discussed from the prespective of two approaches: compartmental and distributed.
