Observation of Z decays to four leptons with the CMS detector at the LHC

S. Chatrchyan, +2257 more
TL;DR: The first observation of the Z boson decaying to four leptons in proton-proton collisions is presented in this article, where a pronounced resonance peak, with a statistical significance of 9.7 σ, is observed in the distribution of the invariant mass of four lepton (electrons and/or muons) with mass and width consistent with expectations for z boson decays.
Journal ArticleDOI

Measurement of charged pion, kaon, and proton production in proton-proton collisions at √s = 13 TeV

Albert M. Sirunyan, +2234 more
- 05 Dec 2017 -
TL;DR: In this article, the transverse momentum spectra of charged pions, kaons, and protons are measured in proton-proton collisions at root s = 13 TeV with the CMS detector at the LHC.
Journal ArticleDOI

Search for Quark Compositeness with the Dijet Centrality Ratio in pp Collisions at root s=7 TeV

Vardan Khachatryan, +2200 more
TL;DR: In this article, a search for quark compositeness in the form of quark contact interactions, based on hadronic jet pairs (dijets) produced in proton-proton collisions at sqrt(s) = 7 TeV, is described.
Journal ArticleDOI

Measurement of the cross-section for W boson production in association with b-jets in pp collisions at √s=7 TeV with the ATLAS detector

Georges Aad, +2942 more
TL;DR: In this article, a measurement of the W+b-jets' production cross-section in proton-proton collisions at a centre-of-mass energy of 7 TeV at the LHC is reported.
Journal ArticleDOI

Search for gravitational waves from intermediate mass binary black holes

J. Abadie, +873 more
- 24 May 2012 -
TL;DR: In this article, the authors presented the results of a weakly modeled burst search for gravitational waves from mergers of non-spinning intermediate mass black holes (IMBH) in the total mass range 100--450 solar masses and with the component mass ratios between 1:1 and 4:1.
