29 Aug 2019TL;DR: A fuzzy inference system is proposed with a specific consideration on the node energy, distance from base station and number of alive neighbours to decide the probability of a node, which has to be appointed a cluster head and also decides the size of cluster it may have.
Abstract: The problem of increasing network lifetime by reducing energy consumption becomes more significant as the topology of the wireless sensor network is not fixed and sensor nodes are located randomly within the networks. This paper focuses on maintaining the network connectivity as long as possible. A clustering method that checks connectivity during topology formation is proposed. A fuzzy inference system is proposed with a specific consideration on the node energy, distance from base station and number of alive neighbours to decide the probability of a node, which has to be appointed a cluster head and also decides the size of cluster it may have.

01 Sep 2016TL;DR: This paper presents performed design simulation on COMSOL 5.0 of reduced size micro-gripper for micro-robotics and micro-surgery field application and results show very good agreement with the electro-thermal actuation operating mechanism.
Abstract: This paper presents performed design simulation on COMSOL 5.0 of reduced size micro-gripper for micro-robotics and micro-surgery field application. The performance of this proposed reduced size design of bi-morph electro-thermic actuated micro-gripper is optimized in terms of material optimization as well as dimensional optimization because these are the greatly affecting factors. The investigated results show very good agreement with the electro-thermal actuation operating mechanism. During simulation we limit operating voltage range from 0 to 2 volts.

18 May 2018TL;DR: In this manuscript model order reduction of the higher order discrete time state space model is done and the obtained lower order is compared with the original discrete time higher order system and second order reduced transfer function available in literature.
Abstract: In this manuscript model order reduction of the higher order discrete time state space model is done. The mode selection method and Continued Fraction Cauer second form is being used. The numerator part is derived by mode selection method and denominator part is calculated by Continued Fraction Cauer Second Form. The method is applied in a fourth order discrete time transfer function. The obtained lower order is compared with the original discrete time higher order system and second order reduced transfer function available in literature. The comparison of characteristics plot of the original transfer function with second order proposed and reduced order available in literature is done by the step response and pole zero mapping.

01 Sep 2015TL;DR: The proposed algorithm is named as Shrinking Hyper-Sphere based ABC (SHABC) and shows that the SHABC algorithm perform better than the original version of ABC and its latest variant, namely Modified ABC (MABC) in most of the experiments.
Abstract: Artificial Bee Colony (ABC) is a popular swarm intelligence based approach used to solve nonlinear and complex optimization problems. It is a simple to implement and swarm based probabilistic algorithm. As the case of other swarm based algorithms, ABC is also computationally expensive due to its slow nature of search process. The solution search equation of ABC is significantly influenced by a random quantity which helps in exploration at the cost of exploitation of the search space. Therefore, to balance the exploration and exploitation characteristics of the ABC, Shrinking Hyper-Sphere based local search approach is developed and hybridized with in the ABC solution search process. The proposed algorithm is named as Shrinking Hyper-Sphere based ABC (SHABC). The experiments over 14 well known benchmark functions of complex in nature, show that the SHABC algorithm perform better than the original version of ABC and its latest variant, namely Modified ABC (MABC) in most of the experiments.

01 Oct 2019TL;DR: A three-phase voltage source converter is used in place of an inverter for interfacing between the DC-Voltage produced by solar and the grid having AC-transmission line and a MPPT technique is also used in this system to enhance the efficiency of the PV array irrespective of the variable climatic conditions.
Abstract: Above paper present the development of Solar PV based system with grid interfacing involving power quality improvement measures by using a L-C filter. And a three-phase voltage source converter is used in place of an inverter for interfacing between the DC-Voltage produced by solar and the grid having AC-transmission line. A MPPT technique is also used in this system to enhance the efficiency of the PV array irrespective of the variable climatic conditions. So that maximum power could be extracted from the solar PV array and connected to the grid.
