01 Aug 2017TL;DR: Results of Neural network feature extractor and classifiers have shown that NN with k-NN gave overall higher results than the Neural network classifier and shown highest results (93.21%) accuracy on a syllabic script written digits set.
Abstract: This paper presents a brand new offline written syllabic script digit recognition system. although syllabic script is that the script for Hindi, that is that the official language of India, its character and digit recognition create nice challenges because of massive type of symbols and their proximity in look.so as to extract options which might distinguish similar showing digits, we have a tendency to use Neural network. The resultant massive dimensional feature house is handled by careful application of Principal element Analysis (PCA). The Support Vector Machine (SVM) and k-NN categoryifiers were used with one-against-rest class model. Results of Neural network feature extractor and classifiers have shown that NN with k-NN gave overall higher results than the Neural network classifier and shown highest results (93.21%) accuracy on a syllabic script written digits set.

17 Jul 2019TL;DR: The unified power flow control is the most promising device of fact family at which study in this paper is concentrated and it can control flow of real and reactive power as well as voltage amplitude at the same time at the UPFC nodes.
Abstract: This paper present amelioration power quality of hybrid power system integration with PV, wind and battery system by FACTS device. In transmission and distribution system power quality is major restraint. FACTS device have many merits in transmission like flexibility and high speed. Benefit of this system is the diverse sources can be connected to at one junction of power line, because of this these method are ascertaining to be an efficacious and ductile method for the development of the system. Harmonics produce when two diverse source connected to grid and it removed by using UPFC. The unified power flow control is the most promising device of fact family at which study in this paper is concentrated. In the study of this paper UPFC is modeled and interpretation of UPFC in a hybrid-grid connected system is examined. The extraordinary feature of the UPFC is such that it can control flow of real and reactive power as well as voltage amplitude at the same time at the UPFC nodes. The planned model is simulating in MATLAB/Simulink software.

01 Jan 2016TL;DR: In this article, a case study of two biomass power plants which are producing electricity and connected to grid and working on Fluidized Bed Combustion technology is presented, where technical and financial parameters of plants have been specified.
Abstract: In this paper case study of two biomass power plants which are producing electricity and connected to grid and working on Fluidized Bed Combustion technology are presented. Technical and financial parameters of plants have been specified. Levelized electricity cost of both the biomass plants is calculated and compared. The parameters which are influencing the LEC such as capital cost, operation & maintenance cost and fuel or feed stock cost, interest rate, inflation rate, life span of the plant have been taken into consideration for calculation of LEC.

01 Jan 2016TL;DR: In this paper, a three bladed Small Vertical Axis Wind Turbine (SVAWT) has been designed, manufactured and tested, and three NACA profile blades were used to conduct the experiment.
Abstract: Importance of Small Wind Turbines (SWTs) for harnessing wind energy in the context of India is stated. Relevance of vertical axis wind turbine (VAWT) in the small wind is explained. In the present work, a three bladed Small Vertical Axis Wind Turbine (SVAWT) has been designed, manufactured and tested. Three NACA profile blades, namely NACA 0012, NACA 0015 and NACA 0018 were used to conduct the experiment. The blades, link rod, rotor, stator and column can be manufactured with the engineering facilities available even at sub-district (Tehsil) levels. The shaft hub assembly of the conventional system is replaced by the bicycle rear wheel hub shaft, which is easily available in the market, to make it cost effective. The blade parameters have been taken into consideration during the design stage. Experiment has been performed to find the torque - speed characteristics of the SVAWT. Comparison of various parameters has been made for the three types of NACA profiles for the wind conditions of Kota, Rajasthan, India.

10 Jul 2018TL;DR: A step by step method to simulate PV array using MATLAB/SIMULINK is described and an MSX 64W PV panel has been taken as a base model.
Abstract: Photovoltaic (PV) array which consists of series and parallel connected modules is the fundamental building block of a photovoltaic energy conversion system. PV array shows nonlinear characteristics and evaluating the operating characteristics under time varying environmental conditions is a too costly and time-consuming task. To avoid these hindrances, an elementary and a basic model of PV array were modeled and incorporated to different software involving MATLAB/SIMULINK. Although, these PV models are not appropriate for operation, including hybrid energy network because these systems require pliant tuning of various parameters and cannot be easy to understand. So, this paper describes a step by step method to simulate PV array using MATLAB/SIMULINK. An MSX 64W PV panel has been taken as a base model. The characteristic's curves of PV module are also evaluated at a broad range of environmental circumstances and physical parameters. The effects of partial shading conditions on PV characteristics are also discussed.
