TL;DR: An adaptive algorithm to find respiration rate using modified weighted multi signal oscillator based filtered least mean square (W-OSC-FxLMS) algorithm is presented and shows that the proposed algorithm out performs the conventional methods.
Abstract: Respiratory rate (RR) monitoring is very important in the hospitality environment and is used to measure various diseases. In this paper an adaptive algorithm to find respiration rate using modified weighted multi signal oscillator based filtered least mean square (W-OSC-FxLMS) algorithm is presented. In this method RR is determined from single lead electrocardiogram (ECG) by tracking the instantaneous frequency in respiratory sinus arrhythmia (RSA) and respiratory peak amplitude (RPA) waveforms. In this work adaptive approach is applied with W-OSC algorithm based multi signal frequency tracking to find RR. Adaptive filtered least mean square (FxLMS) algorithm combined with weighted multi signal oscillator based (W-OSC) algorithm improves the tracking accuracy. Simulation are performed on physionet fantasia dataset shows that the proposed algorithm out performs the conventional methods. Proposed method is also having the advantages such as less bulky, inexpensive can be used in peacemaker and body area network applications.

TL;DR: The main target of this research work is to maintain the rotational angle of the joint at an appropriate position and to remove the fluctuations at a specific robotic tool which is known as end effectors.
Abstract: With the advancement in technology, industries are moving from automation to robotics in the era of robotization. Different control techniques are being used in a different sector of production to control the whole machinery with special attention towards control the position and vibrations. In this research article, the feasible controller has been investigated for position control of flexible joint manipulator. For this, an effective version of a single linked flexible joint robotic manipulator has been used as a platform to control the position of manipulator using different control approaches. Euler’s–Lagrange equations have been used to obtain the effective version of the system and the position control has been performed by proportional-integral-derivative (PID) controller, pole –placement and linear quadratic regulator (LQR) methods. The main target of this research work is to maintain the rotational angle of the joint at an appropriate position and to remove the fluctuations at a specific robotic tool which is known as end effectors. The gains of PID controller have been delineated with the help of genetic algorithm and tuned for obtaining the most suitable gains to control the position of flexible joint manipulator and vibrations. As the settling time of the system was high so genetic algorithm has been used to optimize it. The Matlab®/simulation results depict that genetic algorithm tuned PID controller performed better correlated to both pole placement and LQR method of control.

01 Jul 2018TL;DR: DSTATCOM control technique IRP and BP algorithm which enhances the power quality are studied and simulated by MATLAB (16b) software to show their performance.
Abstract: Electrical energy, the most spent form of energy, must be available with proper quality and continuity for effective operation of end user equipment. But, technology advancement past recent years like semiconductors devices, electronic system and control etc. drastically affect power quality. No doubt, these devices make system reliable but also lead to disturbances affecting other equipment's operation and too generate harmonics. FACTS and CPD's help in retaining power quality and improves reliability. This paper contains study of DSTATCOM control technique IRP and BP algorithm which enhances the power quality. These Control techniques of DSTATCOM are simulated by MATLAB (16b) software to show their performance.

01 Jan 2017TL;DR: Clustering of nodes is carried out by considering the asymmetric communication links between nodes and energy consumption in proposed technique is reduced and hence lifetime of the network is improved.
Abstract: In Wireless Sensor Network (WSN), various routing strategies have been adopted to prolong the network lifetime. Clustering is the important technique in comparison to all the other existing routing techniques. Proposed algorithm adopts the hierarchical structure for cluster formation and selecting cluster head in distributed approach. In this paper, clustering of nodes is carried out by considering the asymmetric communication links between nodes. Energy consumption in proposed technique is reduced and hence lifetime of the network is improved. The Simulation is carried out in MATLAB7.9 and the obtained result verifies that proposed algorithm increased network as compared to the existing routing protocols.

TL;DR: HMM based enhanced DTW technique is proposed to efficiently recognize various speaking rate signals and for recognizing closely similar utterances and the derivation of Viterbi and forward algorithms for finding optimized path alignment in new propose technique are extended.
Abstract: Dynamic Time Warping (DTW) is template based cost minimization technique. We propose Hidden Markov Model (HMM) based enhanced DTW technique to efficiently recognize various speaking rate signals and for recognizing closely similar utterances. We extend the derivation of Viterbi and forward algorithms for finding optimized path alignment in new propose technique and extend the Baum-Welch algorithm to optimize the model parameters. The proposed technique is compared with conventional DTW technique, and from comparative results analysis we find that it improves the results from 84% to 94 % using DTW technique for Hindi spoken words for various speech utterances in different environmental conditions or for varying speakers.
