TLDR
Five miRNA binding site SNPs associated significantly with breast cancer risk are located in the 3′ UTR of CASP8, HDDC3, DROSHA, MUSTN1, and MYCL1, respectively, which belongs to miRNA machinery genes and has a central role in initial miRNA processing.

Discovering socio-spatio-temporal important locations of social media users

TL;DR: This study defines SSTILs and SSTil mining problem by taking into account spatial, temporal, and social dimensions of the social media datasets, and proposes methods and interest measures to discover S STILs efficiently based on both user and group preferences.

Dental tissue-derived stem cell sheet biotechnology for periodontal tissue regeneration: A systematic review.

TL;DR: In this article, a systematic review of the use of a cell sheet formed by mesenchymal stem cells derived from dental tissues (ddMSCs) for periodontal tissue regeneration in animal models in comparison with any other type of regenerative treatment was conducted.

Exploring family members’ and health care professionals’ perceptions on ICU diaries: a systematic review and qualitative data synthesis

TL;DR: In this article, the authors summarize the current qualitative evidence on families' and health care professionals' experiences of writing in and reading the ICU diaries, and use a thematic synthesis approach to analyze and synthesize the qualitative data.

Global cancer statistics

TL;DR: A substantial proportion of the worldwide burden of cancer could be prevented through the application of existing cancer control knowledge and by implementing programs for tobacco control, vaccination, and early detection and treatment, as well as public health campaigns promoting physical activity and a healthier dietary intake.

Conserved seed pairing, often flanked by adenosines, indicates that thousands of human genes are microRNA targets

TL;DR: In a four-genome analysis of 3' UTRs, approximately 13,000 regulatory relationships were detected above the estimate of false-positive predictions, thereby implicating as miRNA targets more than 5300 human genes, which represented 30% of the gene set.

Comprehensive molecular portraits of human breast tumours

Daniel C. Koboldt, +355 more
- 04 Oct 2012 -
TL;DR: The ability to integrate information across platforms provided key insights into previously defined gene expression subtypes and demonstrated the existence of four main breast cancer classes when combining data from five platforms, each of which shows significant molecular heterogeneity.

Most mammalian mRNAs are conserved targets of microRNAs

TL;DR: This work overhauled its tool for finding preferential conservation of sequence motifs and applied it to the analysis of human 3'UTRs, increasing by nearly threefold the detected number of preferentially conserved miRNA target sites.
