TLDR
Five miRNA binding site SNPs associated significantly with breast cancer risk are located in the 3′ UTR of CASP8, HDDC3, DROSHA, MUSTN1, and MYCL1, respectively, which belongs to miRNA machinery genes and has a central role in initial miRNA processing.

Democratic transitions, health institutions, and financial protection in the emerging economies: insights from Asia.

TL;DR: This article provides an alternative perspective, one that accounts for differences between nations in the creation of regulatory institutions, with an emphasis instead on governing elite strategies to campaign on access to health care during transitions to democracy, civil societal mobilization, constitutional constraints and the national electoral incentives to overcome ineffective decentralization processes.

Development and Validation of the Computerised Adaptive Beat Alignment Test (CA-BAT)

TL;DR: The results support the reliability and validity of the CA-BAT for laboratory testing, but suggest that the test is not well-suited to online testing, owing to its reliance on fine perceptual discrimination.

Nontoxic concentration of DNA‐PK inhibitor NU7441 radio‐sensitizes lung tumor cells with little effect on double strand break repair

TL;DR: The combined treatment of an NHEJ inhibitor at a non‐toxic concentration and carbon ions induced more DNA fragmentation and a higher degree of senescence in H1299 cells than in A549 cells, indicating that DNA‐PK inhibitor contributes to various modes of cell death in a p53‐dependent manner.

Evaluation of Dynamic Mechanical and Thermal Behavior of HDPE Reinforced with MWCNT/h-BNNP: An Attempt to Find Possible Substitute for a Metallic Knee in Transfemoral Prosthesis

TL;DR: In this article, a modified Halpin-Tsai and Hamilton-Crosser model was used to predict the stiffness and thermal conductivity of composites, and the test results confirmed 0.25 MWCNT/0.15h-BNNP as a potential possible substitute for a metallic knee in a prosthetic leg.

Using Twitter sentiment and emotions analysis of Google Trends for decisions making

TL;DR: A pipeline, implemented as a web service, allows a decision maker to monitor Twitter’s sentiment regarding Google Trends, enabling users to choose geographic areas for their monitors, and aims to bridge the gap among Google search query data and sentiments that emerge on Twitter about these trends.

Global cancer statistics

TL;DR: A substantial proportion of the worldwide burden of cancer could be prevented through the application of existing cancer control knowledge and by implementing programs for tobacco control, vaccination, and early detection and treatment, as well as public health campaigns promoting physical activity and a healthier dietary intake.

Conserved seed pairing, often flanked by adenosines, indicates that thousands of human genes are microRNA targets

TL;DR: In a four-genome analysis of 3' UTRs, approximately 13,000 regulatory relationships were detected above the estimate of false-positive predictions, thereby implicating as miRNA targets more than 5300 human genes, which represented 30% of the gene set.

Comprehensive molecular portraits of human breast tumours

TL;DR: The ability to integrate information across platforms provided key insights into previously defined gene expression subtypes and demonstrated the existence of four main breast cancer classes when combining data from five platforms, each of which shows significant molecular heterogeneity.

Most mammalian mRNAs are conserved targets of microRNAs

TL;DR: This work overhauled its tool for finding preferential conservation of sequence motifs and applied it to the analysis of human 3'UTRs, increasing by nearly threefold the detected number of preferentially conserved miRNA target sites.
