TLDR
Five miRNA binding site SNPs associated significantly with breast cancer risk are located in the 3′ UTR of CASP8, HDDC3, DROSHA, MUSTN1, and MYCL1, respectively, which belongs to miRNA machinery genes and has a central role in initial miRNA processing.

Consumption of psychotropic drugs among disability pension applicants with mental disorders: comparing awarded and rejected applicants in Finland.

TL;DR: For awarded applicants, the steep rise of consumption prior to the award possibly reflects worsening occupational capacity, and early high consumption for rejected applicants signals long running mental health problems and calls for earlier support.

Decomposition characteristics of cotton stalks from fall to spring as affected by continuous cropping

TL;DR: In this paper, the effects of continuous cropping on cotton stalk decomposition and nutrient release patterns from fall to spring were studied in fields that had been continuously cropped to cotton for 1, 10, or 20 yrs.

Novel SYK gene variations and changes in binding sites of miRs in breast cancer patients.

TL;DR: Overall novel mutations in SYK gene and in silico analysis revealed that these mutations are crucial and might be responsible for altered expression of SYK.

Global cancer statistics

TL;DR: A substantial proportion of the worldwide burden of cancer could be prevented through the application of existing cancer control knowledge and by implementing programs for tobacco control, vaccination, and early detection and treatment, as well as public health campaigns promoting physical activity and a healthier dietary intake.

Conserved seed pairing, often flanked by adenosines, indicates that thousands of human genes are microRNA targets

TL;DR: In a four-genome analysis of 3' UTRs, approximately 13,000 regulatory relationships were detected above the estimate of false-positive predictions, thereby implicating as miRNA targets more than 5300 human genes, which represented 30% of the gene set.

Comprehensive molecular portraits of human breast tumours

TL;DR: The ability to integrate information across platforms provided key insights into previously defined gene expression subtypes and demonstrated the existence of four main breast cancer classes when combining data from five platforms, each of which shows significant molecular heterogeneity.

Most mammalian mRNAs are conserved targets of microRNAs

TL;DR: This work overhauled its tool for finding preferential conservation of sequence motifs and applied it to the analysis of human 3'UTRs, increasing by nearly threefold the detected number of preferentially conserved miRNA target sites.
