In this paper, a sedimentological core and petrographic characterisation of samples from eleven boreholes from the Lower Carboniferous of Bowland Basin (Northwest England) is presented.
Abstract
Deposits of clastic carbonate-dominated (calciclastic) sedimentary slope systems in the rock record have been identified mostly as linearly-consistent carbonate apron deposits, even though most ancient clastic carbonate slope deposits fit the submarine fan systems better. Calciclastic submarine fans are consequently rarely described and are poorly understood. Subsequently, very little is known especially in mud-dominated calciclastic submarine fan systems. Presented in this study are a sedimentological core and petrographic characterisation of samples from eleven boreholes from the Lower Carboniferous of Bowland Basin (Northwest England) that reveals a >250 m thick calciturbidite complex deposited in a calciclastic submarine fan setting. Seven facies are recognised from core and thin section characterisation and are grouped into three carbonate turbidite sequences. They include: 1) Calciturbidites, comprising mostly of highto low-density, wavy-laminated bioclast-rich facies; 2) low-density densite mudstones which are characterised by planar laminated and unlaminated muddominated facies; and 3) Calcidebrites which are muddy or hyper-concentrated debrisflow deposits occurring as poorly-sorted, chaotic, mud-supported floatstones. Robot impedance control and passivity analysis with inner torque and velocity feedback loops

TL;DR: A methodology for designing joint impedance controllers based on an inner torque loop and a positive velocity feedback loop will be presented and the goal of the velocity feedback is to increase (given the constraints to preserve stability) the bandwidth of the torque loop without the need of a complex controller.

Effectively Transparent Front Contacts for Optoelectronic Devices

TL;DR: In this paper, the 3D microscale triangular cross-section grid fingers redirect incoming photons efficiently to the active semiconductor area and can replace standard grid fingers as well as transparent conductive oxide layers in optoelectronic devices.

On the classification of topological orders

TL;DR: Wen et al. as discussed by the authors axiomatize the extended operators in topological orders (possibly gravitationally anomalous, possibly with degenerate ground states) in terms of monoidal Karoubi-complete categories which are mildly dualizable and have trivial centre.

On the absolute continuity of one-dimensional SDEs driven by a fractional Brownian motion

TL;DR: The problem of absolute continuity for a class of SDEs driven by a real fractional Brownian motion of any Hurst index is addressed in this article, where the authors give an elementary proof that when the diffusion coefficient does not vanish, the solution to the SDE has a positive density for all t > 0.

Fractional Brownian motion with random diffusivity: emerging residual nonergodicity below the correlation time

TL;DR: In this paper, the ergodicity breaking parameter EB quantifying the trajectory-to-trajectory fluctuations of the non-Gaussian anomalous diffusion in terms of a random-diffusivity mechanism in the presence of power-law correlated fractional Gaussian noise is studied.

A review of the features and analyses of the solid electrolyte interphase in Li-ion batteries

TL;DR: The solid electrolyte interphase (SEI) is a protecting layer formed on the negative electrode of Li-ion batteries as a result of electrolyte decomposition, mainly during the first cycle as discussed by the authors.
