TLDR
In this paper, a sedimentological core and petrographic characterisation of samples from eleven boreholes from the Lower Carboniferous of Bowland Basin (Northwest England) is presented.Abstract:
Deposits of clastic carbonate-dominated (calciclastic) sedimentary slope systems in the rock record have been identified mostly as linearly-consistent carbonate apron deposits, even though most ancient clastic carbonate slope deposits fit the submarine fan systems better. Calciclastic submarine fans are consequently rarely described and are poorly understood. Subsequently, very little is known especially in mud-dominated calciclastic submarine fan systems. Presented in this study are a sedimentological core and petrographic characterisation of samples from eleven boreholes from the Lower Carboniferous of Bowland Basin (Northwest England) that reveals a >250 m thick calciturbidite complex deposited in a calciclastic submarine fan setting. Seven facies are recognised from core and thin section characterisation and are grouped into three carbonate turbidite sequences. They include: 1) Calciturbidites, comprising mostly of highto low-density, wavy-laminated bioclast-rich facies; 2) low-density densite mudstones which are characterised by planar laminated and unlaminated muddominated facies; and 3) Calcidebrites which are muddy or hyper-concentrated debrisflow deposits occurring as poorly-sorted, chaotic, mud-supported floatstones. m-order integrals and generalized Ito's formula; the case of a fractional Brownian motion with any Hurst index
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors define the m-order ν-integral having as integrator X and as integrand g(X) a process X and a real function g. In the case of B, for any locally bounded function g, the corresponding integral vanishes for all odd indices m>1/2H and any symmetric ν.

Velocity Extension for the Level-set Method and Multiple Eigenvalues in Shape Optimization
TL;DR: An extension of the velocity of the underlying Hamilton-Jacobi equation is proposed, endowed with a Hilbertian structure based on the H1 Sobolev space, for structural optimization by the level-set method.

A Biomechanical Model of Muscle Contraction
TL;DR: A chemically-controlled constitutive law of cardiac myofibre mechanics is designed, acting on the mesoscopic scale and devoted to be embedded into a macroscopic model, which is consistent with the “sliding filament hypothesis”.

Characteristic-independence of Betti numbers of graph ideals
TL;DR: It is concluded that the highest Betti number which is always independent of the ground field is either 6 or 7; if the former is true then it is shown that there must exist a graph with 12 vertices whose 7th Betti numbers depends on the groundField.

TL;DR: It is shown that massive recruitment of RNA polymerase II (Pol II) with widespread pausing occurs de novo during the midblastula transition and this global change in Pol II pausing correlates with distinct core promoter elements and associates a TATA-enriched promoter with the rapid early transcription.

A review of the features and analyses of the solid electrolyte interphase in Li-ion batteries
TL;DR: The solid electrolyte interphase (SEI) is a protecting layer formed on the negative electrode of Li-ion batteries as a result of electrolyte decomposition, mainly during the first cycle as discussed by the authors.
