TL;DR: The proposed procedure of calibrated complex impedance measurements and dielectric quantification with scanning microwave microscopy is simple and fast and the accuracy of the results is not affected by varying stray capacitances.
Abstract: We present a procedure for calibrated complex impedance measurements and dielectric quantification with scanning microwave microscopy. The calibration procedure works in situ directly on the substrate with the specimen of interest and does not require any specific calibration sample. In the workflow tip‐sample approach curves are used to extract calibrated complex impedance values and to convert measured S11 reflection signals into sample capacitance and resistance images. The dielectric constant of thin dielectric SiO2 films were determined from the capacitance images and approach curves using appropriate electrical tip‐sample models and the"r value extracted at fD 19:81 GHz is in good agreement with the nominal value of"r 4. The capacitive and resistive material properties of a doped Si semiconductor sample were studied at different doping densities and tip‐sample bias voltages. Following a simple serial model the capacitance‐voltage spectroscopy curves are clearly related to the semiconductor depletion zone while the resistivity is rising with falling dopant density from 20 to 20 k. The proposed procedure of calibrated complex impedance measurements is simple and fast and the accuracy of the results is not affected by varying stray capacitances. It works for nanoscale samples on either fully dielectric or highly conductive substrates at frequencies between 1 and 20 GHz.

TL;DR: In this paper, a digital image system and method for combining bad pixel correction and demosaicing in a single process is provided by interpolating sensor values (105) for pixels (25) immediately spatially adjacent to the current pixel (25), and using the interpolated values(105) to demosaice.
Abstract: A digital image system (10) and method for combining bad pixel correction and demosaicing in a single process is provided by interpolating sensor values (105) for pixels (25) immediately spatially adjacent to the current pixel (25) being examined to detect defective pixels (25), and using the interpolated values (105) for demosaicing. If the sensor value (35a) of the current pixel (25) being examined is outside of a range of sensor values (1150 determined from the interpolated values (105) by more than a configurable threshold amount (125), the current pixel (25) is considered defective, and replaced using an estimated value (35b) from the neighboring pixels (25). The interpolated values (105) calculated for use in detecting bad pixels (25) can further be used as the interpolated values (105) for demosaicing purposes.

TL;DR: It is found that Meq transformsDF-1, with a cell morphology akin to v-Jun and v-Ski transformed cells, and protects DF-1 from apoptosis, and the transformed cells are tumorigenic in chorioallantoic membrane assay, suggesting that avian herpesvirus and retrovirus oncogenes use a similar strategy in transformation and oncogenesis.
Abstract: Marek's disease virus (MDV) is a highly pathogenic and oncogenic herpesvirus of chickens. MDV encodes a basic leucine zipper (bZIP) protein, Meq (MDV EcoQ). The bZIP domain of Meq shares homology with Jun/Fos, whereas the transactivation/repressor domain is entirely different. Increasing evidence suggests that Meq is the oncoprotein of MDV. Direct evidence that Meq transforms chicken cells and the underlying mechanism, however, remain completely unknown. Taking advantage of the DF-1 chicken embryo fibroblast transformation system, a well established model for studying avian sarcoma and leukemia oncogenes, we probed the transformation properties and pathways of Meq. We found that Meq transforms DF-1, with a cell morphology akin to v-Jun and v-Ski transformed cells, and protects DF-1 from apoptosis, and the transformed cells are tumorigenic in chorioallantoic membrane assay. Significantly, using microarray and RT-PCR analyses, we have identified up-regulated genes such as JTAP-1, JAC, and HB-EGF, which belong to the v-Jun transforming pathway. In addition, c-Jun was found to form stable dimers with Meq and colocalize with it in the transformed cells. RNA interference to Meq and c-Jun down-modulated the expression of these genes and reduced the growth of the transformed DF-1, suggesting that Meq transforms chicken cells by pirating the Jun pathway. These data suggest that avian herpesvirus and retrovirus oncogenes use a similar strategy in transformation and oncogenesis.

TL;DR: In this article, a plurality of acoustic resonators are manufactured in a batch process by forming cavities in a substrate and filling the cavities with a sacrificial layer, which is then removed and mounted in a package with thermal vias being thermal communication with underside of the FBAR filter.
Abstract: A plurality of acoustic resonators are manufactured in a batch process by forming cavities in a substrate and filling the cavities with a sacrificial layer An FBAR membrane comprising a bottom electrode, a piezoelectric layer, and a top electrode is formed over each cavity and the sacrificial layer The substrate is then thinned and the substrate is separated into a plurality of dice using a scribe and break process The sacrificial layer is then removed and the FBAR filter is mounted in a package with thermal vias being thermal communication with underside of the FBAR filter The production method improves thermal properties by increasing the efficiency of heat dissipation from the FBAR filter In addition, electromagnetic interference is decreased by reducing the distance between a primary current flowing over the surface of the FBAR filter and an image current flowing in a ground plane beneath the FBAR filter
