Design and performance analysis of the practical fat tree network using a butterfly network
TL;DR: Although the PFN is a dynamic connection network, it shows low delay and high throughput for the applications that have locality, and the proposed performance model effectively highlights this locality factor.
Proceedings ArticleDOI
Multiple-transform pipelines for image coding
TL;DR: Pipelined VLSI/WSI architectures supporting image coding transforms support flexible structures characterized by a “basic” pipeline - performing the common kernel of computation - and by transform-dependent input and output stages.
Proceedings ArticleDOI
Square Meshes are not Optimal for Convex Hull Computation
TL;DR: This paper is to provide yet another example of a fundamental problem for which rectangular meshes with multiple broadcasting yield faster algorithms than their square counterparts.
Journal ArticleDOI
Alternative evaluation functions for the cyclic bandwidth sum problem
TL;DR: The iterated local search implementation, using an alternative evaluation function, surpassed the best solutions yielded by the state-of-the-art algorithms and allow us to attain new better upper bounds for 14 out of 20 well-known benchmark instances.

Is the Shuffle-Exchange Better Than the Butterfly?
Arvind Raghunathan,Huzur Saran +1 more
TL;DR: Under a certain model of comparison, it is shown that the shuffle-exchange is no worse than the butterfly and isolated a “shuffle-ex exchange-like” graph that is strictly superior to the butterfly.
