TL;DR: In this paper, the dissolution of the salt into the polymer host and the structural properties of pure and complexed HPMC polymer electrolyte films were confirmed by X-ray diffraction (XRD) studies.
Abstract: Solid polymer electrolyte films based on hydroxypropyl methylcellulose (HPMC) complexed with sodium iodide (NaI) were prepared using solution cast method. The dissolution of the salt into the polymer host and the structural properties of pure and complexed HPMC polymer electrolyte films were confirmed by X-ray diffraction (XRD) studies. XRD results revealed that the amorphous domains of HPMC polymer matrix were increased with increase in NaI salt concentration. The degree of crystallinity was found to be high in pure HPMC samples. The thermal properties were studied using differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). DSC results revealed that the presence of NaI in the polymer matrix increases the melting temperature; however, it is observed that fusion heat is high for pure HPMC films. The variation of film morphology was examined by scanning electron microscopy. Fourier transform infrared spectral studies revealed vibrational changes that occurred due to the effect of dopant salt in the polymer. Direct current conductivity was measured in the temperature range of 313–383 K. The magnitude of electrical conductivity was found to increase with the increase in salt and temperature concentration. The data on the activation energy regions (regions I and II) indicated the dominance of ion-type charge transport in these polymer electrolyte films. The composition HPMC:NaI (5:4) is found to exhibit the least crystallinity and the highest conductivity.

TL;DR: In this paper, the heat transfer analysis of steady two dimensional flow of conducting dusty fluid over a stretching cylinder immersed in a porous media under the influence of non-uniform source/sink is studied.
Abstract: The principle aim of the present investigation is to study the heat transfer analysis of steady two dimensional flow of conducting dusty fluid over a stretching cylinder immersed in a porous media under the influence of non-uniform source/sink. Governing partial differential equations are reduced into coupled non-linear ordinary differential equations using suitable similarity transformations. The resulting system of equations are then solved Numerically with efficient Runge Kutta Fehlberg-45 Method. Graphical display of the obtained numerical solution is performed to illustrate the influence of various flow controlling parameters like curvature parameter, magnetic parameter, porous parameter, Prandtl number, heat source/sink parameter, fluid-particle interaction parameter on velocity and temperature distributions of both fluid and dust phases. The numerical results for the skin-friction coefficient and Nusselt number are also presented. Finally, the obtained numerical solutions are compared and found to be in good agreement with previously published results under special cases. The velocity within the boundary layer in the case of cylinder is larger than the flat surface and both the magnitude of the skin friction coefficient and heat transfer rate at the surface are higher for cylinder when compared to that of flat plate.

TL;DR: In this paper, a simple one-pot reaction of chalcones 1a-f with 1-amino-2-mercapto-5-phenyl-1,3,4-triazole and ophenylenediamine in the presence of a catalytic amount of sodium acetate under microwave irradiation gave 2-(3,8-diphenyl-7, 8-dihydro[1, 2,4]triazolo[3, 4]-thiadiazepin-6-yl)phenoles 3a
Abstract: A novel and efficient method for the synthesis of substituted thiazepines and diazepines has been developed. A simple one-pot reaction of chalcones 1a–f with 1-amino-2-mercapto-5-phenyl-1,3,4-triazole and o-phenylenediamine in the presence of a catalytic amount of sodium acetate under microwave irradiation gave 2-(3,8-diphenyl-7,8-dihydro[1,2,4]triazolo[3,4-b][1,3,4]thiadiazepin-6-yl)phenoles 2a–f and 2-(2-phenyl-2,3-dihydro-1H-1,5-benzodiazepin-4-yl)phenoles 3a–f, respectively. The structure of all the synthesized compounds was elucidated on the basis of elemental analysis, IR, 1H and 13C NMR, and mass spectral data.
