TL;DR: In this paper, a cross-cultural adaptation of the original English Brief Resilience Scale (BRS) for Brazilian athletes was presented, with data collected from 330 athletes (18 - 44 years of age) of both sexes.
Abstract: In general studies of resilience, the traumatic events, stressors and risks tend to be events that astonish the person. In the sports setting, it is not always true, since athletes actively seek for challenging situations. e pressure to perform at a high standard, worries about job security and injury, diculties balancing sport and social life commitments, lack of coach feedback, lack of social support in competition and training are some specic stressor in sports settings. The aim of this study was to adapt cross-culturally and examine the psychometric properties of the Brief Resilience Scale (BRS) for Brazilian athletes. Following the cross-cultural adaptation of the original English scale, data were collected from 330 athletes (18 - 44 years of age) of both sexes. The original model of the scale was tested, with conrmatory factor analysis, using LISREL software (version 8.51). A satisfactory t for the Brazilian model with one factor and six items was found (χ2 = 18.32, p <.001; RMSEA = .07; GFI = .993; AGFI = .97;, NFI = .979; CFI = .993; NNFI = .986; χ2 /Df = 2.61), replicating the original structure of the scale. Satisfactory evidence of construct validity and internal consistency were also generated through analysis of factor loadings, t-values, Cronbach’s alpha, and construct reliability tests. The BRS appears to be a valid and reliable scale to assess resilience among Brazilian athletes.

TL;DR: In this paper, an analise da producao cientifica sobre a tematica danca e o idoso is presented, with the goal of realizar uma analise of a documentação of the Biblioteca Virtual de Saude (BVS).

TL;DR: The effects of exercise training (10 weeks) on soleus muscle morphology in diabetic nerve regeneration after injury by sciatic nerve crush is evaluated.
Abstract: Introduction: In this study we evaluate the effects of exercise training (10 weeks) on soleus muscle morphology in diabetic nerve regeneration after injury by sciatic nerve crush. Methods: Wistar rats were assigned to either a non-diabetic (n = 6), non-diabetic injured (n = 6), diabetic (n = 6), diabetic injured (DC; n = 9), or trained diabetic injured group (TDC; n = 7). Muscle transverse sections were used for morphometric and ultrastructural analyses. Results: Higher fiber density and smaller average myofiber area were observed in the DC and TDC (P < 0.05) groups compared with the other groups. This atrophic pattern was partially reversed in TDC. There was misalignment of the sarcomeres and structural alterations in the blood vessels, sarcolemma, nucleus, and mitochondria in the DC animals. The myofibers and blood vessels had a similar normal appearance in the TDC group. In addition, polyribosomes, rough sarcoplasmic reticulum, developed Golgi apparatus, and new myofibrils were observed. Conclusions: Sciatic nerve injury was found to promote soleus muscle atrophy and ultrastructural alterations in experimental diabetic nerve regeneration, which were partially reversed by exercise training.

TL;DR: In this article, the effects of perceptual body stimulation activities on the body schema of the elderly were evaluated with the IMP (Image Marking Procedure), capable of measuring the degree of distortion between the actual and perceived image in different parts of the body.
Abstract: Advances in science have resulted in increased longevity and reflect the growing number of elderly individuals in society today. The increase in chronological age brings progressive loss of functionality, and changes the process of providing information on body awareness, resulting in the misinterpretation of body parameters. Studies have shown that movement and physical activity are able to positively influence body perception. This study aimed to evaluate the effects of perceptual body stimulation activities on the body schema of the elderly. The evaluation was performed with the IMP (Image Marking Procedure), capable of measuring the degree of distortion between the actual and perceived image in different parts of the body. Measurements of body size perception were taken before and after perceptual body stimulation programs. The study results showed that the body intervention program can bring benefits to the participants, but it is necessary that stimulation have a more specific focus, according to the perceptive characteristics of each individual.
