TL;DR: The aim of this manuscript is to review the contribution that studies involving different animal models of insulin deficiency or resistance have given to understand, treat and prevent diabetic cardiovascular autonomic dysfunction.
Abstract: Much new information has been published in the last few years regarding pathophysiology of cardiovascular autonomic dysfunction in diabetic rats and mice. Our group has been studying the time-course cardiovascular changes associated with experimental diabetes in the last years, and obtained consistent evidences of severe dysautonomia in diabetes animal models. The aim of this manuscript is to review the contribution that studies involving different animal models of insulin deficiency or resistance have given to understand, treat and prevent diabetic cardiovascular autonomic dysfunction.

TL;DR: Data of the current study indicate that a 6-month MCEP improves mobility and reduce blood pressure in T2DM patients, however, maximal walking speed, transfer capacity, and executive function were only improved in CG, indicating that T2 DM may present impaired adaptability in response to physical stimulus.
Abstract: The present study aimed to investigate the effects of a 6-month multicomponent exercise program (MCEP) on functional, cognitive, and hemodynamic parameters of older Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) patients. Moreover, additional analyses were performed to evaluate if T2DM patients present impaired adaptability in response to physical exercise when compared to nondiabetic volunteers. A total of 72 T2DM patients and 72 age-matched healthy volunteers (CG) were recruited and submitted to functional, cognitive, and hemodynamic evaluations before and after six months of a MCEP. The program of exercise was performed twice a week at moderate intensity. Results indicate T2DM and nondiabetic patients present an increase in mobility (i.e., usual walking speed) after the MCEP. However, improvements in maximal walking speed, transfer capacity, and executive function were only observed in the CG. On the other hand, only T2DM group reveals a marked decline in blood pressure. In conclusion, data of the current study indicate that a 6-month MCEP improves mobility and reduce blood pressure in T2DM patients. However, maximal walking speed, transfer capacity, and executive function were only improved in CG, indicating that T2DM may present impaired adaptability in response to physical stimulus.

TL;DR: In this article, a perfil capilar of diferentes musculos esqueleticos in ratos of meia-idade submetidos a treinamento resistido (TR) and testosterona exogena was investigated.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present teaching practices related to the incentive for new ideas, development of an environment for the expression of ideas, differentiation in assessment practices and the teaching methodologies, and concern for student learning that can encourage the creativity of academics.
Abstract: This article aims to contribute to the knowledge about creativity dissemination in higher education, highlighting the opinion of administration students about the impact of creative teaching practices used by teachers in private higher education institutions of Santa Catarina. The adopted method opted for the quantitative and qualitative approach: in the first stage descriptive quantitative research was performed by applying survey technique with 195 students, in the second stage of the research, semi-structured interviews with five teachers of the investigated institutions were performed. As contributions, the research presents teaching practices related to the incentive for new ideas, development of an environment for the expression of ideas, differentiation in assessment practices and the teaching methodologies, and concern for student learning that can encourage the creativity of academics. The results also point out the need of understanding the new educational context that is being built in the Brazilian higher education institutions.
