TL;DR: The objective of this study was to analyze the mortality trend among women between 35 and 64 years old in Brazil in the last years and found that cardiovascular diseases and neoplasms were in the second and third positions, respectively, and increased in the study period.
Abstract: There are few studies on women's mortality during climacteric, especially in Brazil. The objective of this study was to analyze the mortality trend among women between 35 and 64 years old in Brazil in the last years. Mortality data were collected in the Mortality Information System of Datasus, Ministry of Health, for the period 1979 to 2004. For the analysis, age- and cause-specific mortality rates were calculated for the ten more frequent chapters of the International Classification of Diseases as cause of death per decade of climacteric age group in the regions of Brazil. In Brazil, three chapters of the International Classification of Diseases predominated: cardiovascular diseases, malignant neoplasms, and ill-defined causes. The Southeast, South and Central West regions followed the same pattern of the country with regard to the position of the first three causes of death; however, cardiovascular diseases and ill-defined causes decreased while neoplasms increased. In the North region, although the same causes presented similar rates, cardiovascular diseases prevailed in most of the study period, but ill-defined causes were more frequent than neoplasms. In the Northeast, the main causes were the ill-defined ones, although they declined from 1979 to 2004. Cardiovascular diseases and neoplasms were in the second and third positions, respectively, and increased in the study period.

TL;DR: The paradox of propositiOns, presented in Appenclix B of Russell's The Principies of Mathernatics (1903), is usually taken as Russell's principal motive, at the time, for moving from a simple to a ramified theory of types as discussed by the authors.
Abstract: The paradox of propositiOns, presented in Appenclix B of Russell's The Principies of Mathernatics (1903), is usually taken as Russell's principal motive, at the time, for moving from a simple to a ramified theory of types. I argue that this view is mistaken. A closer study of Russell's correspondence with Frege reveals that Russell carne to adopt a very different resolution of the paradox, calling into question not the simplicity of his early type theory but the simplicity of his early theory of propositions.

TL;DR: Elderly women engaged in a regular exercise program have a lower incidence of urinary incontinence, and the influence of physical activity on functional performance and on UI among women on the stage of aging is related.
Abstract: Introduction Urinary incontinence (UI) is the involuntary urine loss, with the prevalence of 17% to 24% in women over 65 years-old. It has a multifactorial cause, being a condition that affects many people in all ages mainly postmenopausal women, it is also found in athlete women who have a high level of training associated mainly to high impact activities. Objective The aim of this study is to conduct a literature review that relates the influence of physical activity on functional performance and on UI among women on the stage of aging. Method The bibliographical review was done in Medline, Scielo, Pubmed and SportsDisco databases using the keywords physical activity or exercise, postmenopause or aging and urinary incontinence and stress urinary incontinence. Conclusion Elderly women engaged in a regular exercise program have a lower incidence of UI.

TL;DR: Urgent measures based on education could improve the consumption habits of added sugars and the health of the population.
Abstract: The high consumption of added sugars in the diet of the Argentine population and its consequent effect on health are current concerns both at the clinical and public health levels. The objective of this study was to determine the main sources of added sugars in the Argentine diet and to determine the proportional energy contribution of each of them. The sample consisted of 1266 individuals, representative of the country's urban population from 15 to 65 years old, stratified by region, age, gender and socio-economic level. Two 24-hour intake records and one socio-economic questionnaire were carried out. Among the total food and beverages consumed, 26.9% of added sugars was contributed by soft drinks and 23.8% by infusions. The third place, with 15.4%, was obtained by baked goods (bread, cookies, etc.) and the fourth, with 12%, from ready-to-prepare juices, ahead of sweets, candies and dairy products. Men, compared to women, consumed significantly more added sugars in soft drinks (32.6 vs. 22.1%) and women more in infusions (25.5% vs. 21.8%), baked goods, sugar and honey. The lower income population consumed significantly more sugar in infusions at the expense of "mate" (21.4 vs. 7 g/day) and no differences were observed in the consumption of soft drinks by socio-economic level (32.9 vs. 34.4 g/day). Urgent measures based on education could improve the consumption habits of added sugars and the health of the population.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors investigated how play and game have been presented in the National Common Curriculum Basis second provisory proposal in Physical Education area. And they concluded that the NCCB advances by proposing the pedagogical treatment of play and games as content, but limits the presence of this theme to Kindergarten and early years of elementary school.
Abstract: In this article, we investigate how play and game have been presented in the National Common Curriculum Basis second provisory proposal in Physical Education area. There seems to be an association between global educational policy and the Brazilian school system organization, using various tools, including the construction of a common curriculum as requirement for certain guarantees to access knowledge. We analyzed that large scale assessments might mask such guarantees and, since the last decade of the Twentieth Century, National Curriculum Parameters influenced the emergence of various curricular proposals in the country, within which predominantly Physical Education has assumed elements of Movement Body Culture, as play and game. We concluded that the National Common Curriculum Basis advances by proposing the pedagogical treatment of play and game as content, but limits the presence of this theme to Kindergarten and early years of Elementary School.
