Electric vehicle fleet contributions for isolated systems. The case of the Canary Islands

TL;DR: In this article, the authors compare an efficient mix under a baseline scenario (null impact of electric vehicles) with an equivalent EH mix under an alternative scenario assuming the introduction of a maximum of 122,000 cars into the Canarias market in 2025, finding a reduction of almost 11% in average generating cost (about 80 million euros/year), 9% in risk (measured as the standard deviation) and almost 13% in emissions.

Coordinated charging control of plug-in electric vehicles at a distribution transformer level using the vTOU-DP approach

TL;DR: In this paper, a virtual time of use rate dynamic programming (vTOU-DP) approach is proposed for the coordinated charging control of PEVs at a distribution transformer level.

Energy management based on productiveness concept

TL;DR: In this article, a new interpretation of the concept productiveness is presented to manage local energy resources through smart loads, based on the assumption that electricity demand is almost completely inelastic is changing as a result of deregulated wholesale markets.

Missing Money for EVs: Economics Impacts of TSO Market Designs

TL;DR: In this paper, the impacts of the implemented TSO rules on the ability for EVs to provide TSO reserves and on their expected remuneration by doing so are assessed. But, the surveys leading to these conclusions are always conducted either without considering the TSO market rules, or using the local TSO existing ones.

Virtual active filters for HVDC networks using V2G technology

TL;DR: In this article, a virtual active filter based on instantaneous power theory (p-q theory) is proposed to maintain the IEEE Std 519-1992 power quality of a HVDC link.

Electric vehicles as a new power source for electric utilities

TL;DR: In this article, the authors analyzed vehicle battery storage in greatest detail, comparing three electric vehicle configurations over a range of driving requirements and electric utility demand conditions, and found that the value to the utility of tapping vehicle electrical storage exceeds the cost of the two-way hook-up and reduced vehicle battery life.

A comparison of hydrogen, methanol and gasoline as fuels for fuel cell vehicles: implications for vehicle design and infrastructure development

TL;DR: In this article, the authors present modeling results comparing three leading options for fuel storage onboard fuel cell vehicles: (a) compressed gas hydrogen storage, (b) onboard steam reforming of methanol, (c) onboard partial oxidation (POX) of hydrocarbon fuels derived from crude oil.

Vehicle-to-Grid Power: Battery, Hybrid, and Fuel Cell Vehicles as Resources for Distributed Electric Power in California

TL;DR: In this article, the authors calculate three parameters of electric drive vehicles (EDVs) which are important for their use by the electric system: resources size, availability, and economic potential.
