Journal ArticleDOI

IL-18 deficiency selectively enhances allergen-induced eosinophilia in mice.

TL;DR: Findings indicate that in vivo IL-18 not only inhibited antigen-specific T(H2) development but also affected apoptosis through Fas-Fas ligand interactions, and these data support a role forIL-18 in the complex pathogenesis of allergic inflammation in which IL- 18 limited the development of the local inflammatory response to antigen.
Journal ArticleDOI

Systemic flagellin immunization stimulates mucosal CD103+ dendritic cells and drives Foxp3+ regulatory T cell and IgA responses in the mesenteric lymph node

TL;DR: This study shows that systemic immunization with soluble FliC (sFliC) drives distinct immune responses concurrently in the mesenteric lymph nodes (MLN) and the spleen after i.p. and s.c. immunization, and offers a potential “Trojan horse” approach to modulate mucosal immunity by systemically immunizing with sFli C.
Book ChapterDOI

Toll-Like Receptors

TL;DR: This research presents a novel probabilistic approach called “Host Defense-guided cell reprograming” (HPD) that addresses the challenge of “blank-spatially aggregating immune cells” to defend against infection.
Journal Article

Effect of B cell differentiation factor (BCDF) on biosynthesis and secretion of immunoglobulin molecules in human B cell lines.

TL;DR: The results suggest that BCDF induces an increase in the level of mRNA specific for secretory heavy chains, and then induces final maturation of B cells into immunoglobulin-secreting cells.
