Journal ArticleDOI

Regulation of Toll/IL-1-receptor-mediated gene expression by the inducible nuclear protein IκBζ

TL;DR: It is shown that IκBζ is indispensable for the expression of a subset of genes activated in TLR/IL-1R signalling pathways, including p50 subunit of NF-κB and endotoxin-induced expression of other genes such as Il12b and Csf2 is abrogated in Iκbζ-deficient macrophages.
Journal ArticleDOI

Lymphoid follicle destruction and immunosuppression after repeated CpG oligodeoxynucleotide administration

TL;DR: It is reported that daily injection of 60 μg CpG-ODN dramatically alters the morphology and functionality of mouse lymphoid organs and strongly reduced primary humoral immune responses and immunoglobulin class switching.
Journal ArticleDOI

IL-18, although antiallergic when administered with IL-12, stimulates IL-4 and histamine release by basophils

TL;DR: IL-18 has the potential to stimulate basophils but, when given with IL-12, exhibits an antiallergic action in vivo, and injection of IL-18 alone alone enhances basophil production ofIL-4 and histamine both in wild-type and IFN-gamma(-/-) mice.
Journal ArticleDOI

Activation of MDA5 Requires Higher-Order RNA Structures Generated during Virus Infection

TL;DR: An antibody to dsRNA is used to show that the presence of immunoreactivity in virus-infected cells does indeed correlate with the ability of RNA extracted from these cells to activate MDA5, and suggests that Mda5 activation requires an RNA web rather than simply long molecules of ds RNA.
