TL;DR: Discontinuation of feeding after treatment of 60% of 96h LC50 of molluscicide containing bait for next 72h caused a significant recovery in free amino acid, protein, DNA and RNA levels in the ovotestis of L. acuminata.
Abstract: The effect of sub-lethal feeding of bait formulations containing molluscicidal component of Ferula asafoetida (ferulic acid, umbelliferone), Syzygium aromaticum (eugenol) and Carum carvi (limonene) on biochemical changes in the ovotestis of snail Lymnaea acuminata were studied. Bait formulations feeding to L. acuminata were studied in clear glass aquaria having diameter of 30 cm. Baits were prepared from different binary combinations of attractant amino acid (valine, aspartic acid, lysine and alanine 10 mM) in 100 mL of 2% agar solution + sub-lethal (20% and 60% of 24h LC50) doses of different molluscicides (ferulic acid, umbelliferone, eugenol and limonene). These baits caused maximum significant reduction in free amino acid, protein, DNA, RNA levels i.e. 41.37, 23.56, 48.36 and 14.29% of control in the ovotestis of the snail, respectively. Discontinuation of feeding after treatment of 60% of 96h LC50 of molluscicide containing bait for next 72h caused a significant recovery in free amino acid, protein, DNA and RNA levels in the ovotestis of L. acuminata.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors measured the excess molar volumes of binary mixtures of heptanol, hexane, octane, and 2,2,4-trimethylpentane using a direct dilatometric technique.
Abstract: Excess molar volumes, have been measured using a direct dilatometric technique for binary mixtures of heptanol (n-C7H15OH) + hexane (n-C6H14), + heptane (n-C7H16), + octane (n-C8H18), and + 2,2,4-trimethylpentane (2,2,4-TMP) at 308.15 K and for n-C7H15OH + pentane (n-C5H12) at 298.15 K. The refractive indexes, nD, have been measured for these mixtures at 303.15 K. has been found to be negative throughout the entire range of composition for xn-C7H15OH + (1 − x)n-C5H12 and xn-C7H15OH + (1 − x)n-C6H14. has been found to be positive at lower values of x and negative at higher values of x for xn-C7H15OH + (1 − x)2,2,4-TMP, xn-C7H15OH + (1 − x)n-C7H16, and xn-C7H15OH + (1 − x)n-C8H18, with the inversion of sign from positive to negative values of occurring at x ∼ 0.06, x ∼ 0.20, and x ∼ 0.45 respectively for these mixtures. Values of and nD for the various mixtures of n-C7H15OH have been fitted in smoothing equations.

TL;DR: In this paper, the properties of these complexes were investigated based upon elemental analyses, electrical conductance, magnetic moment and spectroscopic data, and tentative structures were proposed for these complexes.
Abstract: Bis(cyclopentadienyl)titanium(IV) and zirconium(IV) chlorides react with bis(hydrazones) derived from 1,1′-diacetylferrocene in anhydrous THF in the presence of base to give complexes of the type [(Cp2MCl)2L] [M = Ti or Zr; LH2 = ferrocenyl bis(hydrazones)]. Tentative structures are proposed for these complexes based upon elemental analyses, electrical conductance, magnetic moment and spectroscopic data.

TL;DR: These plants can be used as potent source of molluscicides against the snail I. exustus and Ethanol extracts of these plants were more effective than that of other organic solvents.
Abstract: The toxic effect of dried berries powder of P. cubeba, dried fruit powder of P. longum and T. terrestris singly as well as in combination [binary (1:1) and tertiary (1:1:1)] were studied against snail L. exustus. Toxicity of these plant products were time and concentration dependent. Ethanol extracts of these plants were more effective than that of other organic solvents. 96 h LC50 value of column purified fraction of T. terrestris against I. exustus was 9.57 mg/l, where as 96 h LC50 values of column purified fractions of P. longum and P. cubeba were 11.57 mg/l and 10.93 mg/l, respectively. Binary (1:1) combination of P. cubeba (PC) + P. longum (PL) (41.78 mg/l) was more effective than P. cubeba (PC) + T. terrestris (TT) (42.17 mg/l) and P. longum (PL) + T. terrestris (TT) (55.84 mg/l) respectively; while tertiary (1:1:1) combinations of P. cubeba (PC) + T. terrestris (TT) + T. foenum-graecum (TF) (10.67 mg/l) was more effective than rest of the combinations. These plants can be used as potent source of molluscicides against the snail I. exustus.
