TL;DR: It was found that the total protein content was reduced to 38, 46, and 45% in gill, liver, and ovary, respectively, after lambda-cyhalothrin exposure for 21 days at the LC40 dose, while the total free amino acid content in the liver was enhanced to 172 and 154% of control (100%) after exposure to LC40 of lambda- Cyprinidae and Neemgold.
Abstract: The aim of the present work was to study the effect of lambda-cyhalothrin and Neemgold on the total protein, total free amino acid, and nucleic acid contents in tissues (gill, liver, and ovary) of zebrafish, Danio rerio (Hamilton), after exposure to 96 h LC10 ,L C 20, and LC40 of lambda-cyhalothrin and the neem-based pesticide Neemgold. It was found that the total protein content was reduced to 38, 46, and 45% in gill, liver, and ovary, respectively, after lambda-cyhalothrin exposure for 21 days at the LC40 dose. The total free amino acid content in the liver was enhanced to 172 and 154% of control (100%) after exposure to LC40 of lambda-cyhalothrin and Neemgold, respectively. However, the total free amino acid content in the gill and ovary of treated fish was significantly reduced. In addition, DNA content was reduced to 45, 41, and 41% of controls (100%) in gill, liver, and ovary, respectively, after 21 days of exposure to LC40 of lambda-cyhalothrin. The reduction in DNA content from the control was 51, 53, and 55% in gill, liver, and ovary, respectively, from Neemgold exposure at the same concentration (LC40) and period as lambda-cyhalothrin. It was observed that all the changes were dependent on concentration as well as time. Similarly, significant reductions in RNA content were also observed in gill, liver, and ovary after lambda-cyhalothrin and Neemgold exposure. The probable causes are discussed.

TL;DR: This work represents the first determination of the rate coefficients for the gas-phase reaction of chlorine atoms in ETFA, and suggests that H abstraction from the –CH2 group is kinetically and thermodynamically more favorable than abstraction fromThe –CH3 group.
Abstract: Theoretical investigations were carried out on the gas-phase reactions of CF3C(O)OCH2CH3, ethyl trifluoroacetate (ETFA) with Cl atoms by means of modern density functional theory methods. The optimized geometries, frequencies and minimum energy path were obtained with the hybrid density functional model MPWB1K using the 6-31+G(d,p) basis set. The single point energy calculations were refined further using the G2(MP2) method. Two conformers relatively close in energy were identified for ETFA; both are likely to be important in the temperature range of our study. The existence of transition states on the corresponding potential energy surface was ascertained by performing intrinsic reaction coordinate calculations. The rate constant at 298 K calculated theoretically using canonical transition state theory was found to be in good agreement with experimentally measured values. Our calculations suggest that H abstraction from the –CH2 group is kinetically and thermodynamically more favorable than abstraction from the –CH3 group. The atmospheric lifetime of ETFA with Cl atoms was determined to be 1.98 years. To the best of our knowledge, this work represents the first determination of the rate coefficients for the gas-phase reaction of chlorine atoms in ETFA.

TL;DR: In this article, two copper-II complexes, [Cu(bipy)(5-Br-2-hap)(ClO4)]2 (1) and [cu(mihi-bipyridine, 5-Br 2-hap], were synthesized and characterized, and the crystal structure of 1 was determined by single crystal X-ray diffraction.
Abstract: Two copper(II) complexes, [Cu(bipy)(5-Br-2-hap)(ClO4)]2 (1) and [Cu(bipy)(2-hap)(ClO4)] (2) (where bipy = 2,2′-bipyridine, 5-Br-2-hap = 5-bromo-2-hydroxyacetophenone, 2-hap = 2-hydroxyacetophenone), were synthesized and characterized. The crystal structure of 1 was determined by single crystal X-ray diffraction while 2 was reported earlier. Structural characterization reveals that the presence of bromine in 5-Br-2-hap plays a structure-determining role in dimeric 1 in comparison with the mononuclear 2 where 2-hap was used. Studies of the catalytic potential toward styrene epoxidation in homogeneous system using H2O2 as oxidant reveal that 1 is more efficient than 2 with respect to epoxide selectivity.
