TL;DR: Results from the present study suggest that inhibition of AChE, ACP, and ALP by trimyristin and myristicin in the snail Lymnaea acuminata may be the cause of the molluscicidal activity of Myristica fragrans.
Abstract: This study was designed to investigate the effects of molluscicidal components of Myristica fragrans Houtt. (Myristicaceae) on certain enzymes in the nervous tissue of freshwater snail Lymnaea acuminata Lamarck (Lymnaeidae). In vivo and in vitro treatments of trimyristin and myristicin (active molluscicidal components of Myristica fragrans Houtt.) significantly inhibited the acetylcholinesterase (AChE), acid and alkaline phosphatase (ACP/ALP) activities in the nervous tissue of Lymnaea acuminata. The inhibition kinetics of these enzymes indicates that both the trimyristin and myristicin caused competitive noncompetitive inhibition of AChE. Trimyristin caused uncompetitive and competitive/noncompetitive inhibitions of ACP and ALP, respectively whereas the myristicin caused competitive and uncompetitive inhibition of ACP and ALP, respectively. Thus results from the present study suggest that inhibition of AChE, ACP, and ALP by trimyristin and myristicin in the snail Lymnaea acuminata may be the cause of the molluscicidal activity of Myristica fragrans.

TL;DR: In this paper, the effect of arhar mosaic virus strains (ASM and AMM) infection on the growth, nitrogen value, nodulation and nitrogen-fixing capacity of Vigna sinensis Savi (cowpea), Phaseolus aureus Roxb. (mung) and phaseolus mungo L. (urd) has been studied.
Abstract: The effect of arhar mosaic virus strains (ASM & AMM) infection on the growth, nitrogen value, nodulation and nitrogen-fixing capacity of Vigna sinensis Savi (cowpea), Phaseolus aureus Roxb. (mung) and Phaseolus mungo L. (urd) has been studied. Both the strains lowered the growth and fresh weight of infected plants in comparison to healthy plants. The dry weight, of ASM and AMM strains-infected mung and urd plants, increased but it was reduced in diseased cowpea plants. The anhar mosaic virus infection decreased the number, weight and size of nodule in cowpea and mung but increased the nodule number and fresh weight in urd plants.

TL;DR: In this paper, the properties of 3-methyl- or 3-ethyl-4-amino-5-thiolato-1,2,4-triazole (LH) and its Schiff base derivatives with oxovanadium(IV) were investigated.
Abstract: Complexes of 3-methyl- or 3-ethyl-4-amino-5-thiolato-1,2,4-triazole (LH) and its Schiff base derivatives with oxovanadium(IV), of the types [VOL2(H2O)], [VOL′2-(H2O)] and [VOL″(H2O)2] (where L′H = Schiff bases derived from condensation of LH with benzaldehyde, 2-chlorobenzaldehyde, 4-methoxybenzaldehyde or acetophenone; L″H2 = Schiff bases derived from condensation of LH with salicylaldehyde or o-hydroxyacetophenone) have been prepared and characterized by elemental analyses, electrical conductance, magnetic moments and spectral data. The thermal behaviour of selected complexes was investigated by t.g., d.t.g. and d.s.c. techniques. The antifungal and antiviral activities of the Schiff bases and their corresponding complexes were also investigated.

TL;DR: The calculated parameters show that among all the designed molecules, the molecule A 6 (1,2,3,5,6,7-Hexanitrobnindole) has the properties to be considered as a high density energetic molecule.
Abstract: Nitrogen-rich heterocycles and their nitro derivatives are one of the important classes of energetic materials. In the present study, the computational methods have been applied to determine the thermodynamic and detonation properties of nitro derivatives of BN indole molecule. Structure optimization and electronic energy of the designed molecules are determined using the density functional theory. The gas-phase heat of formation of the species concerned is determined by the atomization method. Wave function analysis-surface analysis suite (WFA-SAS) has been applied to determine the condensed phase heat of formation and crystal density of designed molecules. Bond dissociation energy (BDE) is determined to identify the trigger bond. The energy gap between highest occupied molecular orbital (HOMO) and the lowest unoccupied molecular orbital (LUMO) has been calculated to predict the stability of the molecule. Impact sensitivity and detonation properties of designed species are calculated. The calculated parameters show that among all the designed molecules, the molecule A6 (1,2,3,5,6,7-Hexanitrobnindole) has the properties to be considered as a high density energetic molecule.

TL;DR: The result from this study reveals that mancozeb had some hematological and genotoxic effect on Clarias batracus and fishes were exposed to sublethal concentrations of this pesticide in terms of micronucleus assay and haematology.
Abstract: Application of synthetic pesticides is one of the methods used to increase agriculture production. Pesticides in agricultural runoff affect all the aquatic organisms. The result from this study reveals that mancozeb had some hematological and genotoxic effect on Clarias batracus . Fishes were exposed to sublethal concentrations (80% of LC 50 of 24h) of mancozeb in terms of micronucleus assay and haematology. Micronucleus assay was carried out after 24, 48, 72 and 96 h. Peripheral blood was collected to analyse micronuclei. The numbers of micronuclei at 48 h were maximum. For haematology fishes were exposed for one week. Blood was assayed for selected haematological parameters. It was determined that this pesticide caused a decrease in haemoglobin (Hb), mean corpuscular haemoglobin (MCH), mean corpuscular haemoglobin concentration (MCHC), and red blood cell (RBC) levels, and increase in white blood cell (WBC) level.
