TL;DR: N1-Phenyl-N3-aryl/aryloxymethyl- 1,3,4-oxa(thia)diazol-2-sulphonamide and phenyl isothiocyanate were conveniently prepared and found remarkably active against the fungal species Cephalospora saccharii and Helminthosporium oryzae.
Abstract: N1-Phenyl-N3-aryl/aryloxymethyl[1,3,4-oxa(thia)diazol-2-yl]s ulphonyl ureas (4 and 7) were conveniently prepared from 2-aryl/aryloxymethyl- 1,3,4-oxa(thia)diazol-2-sulphonamide (3 and 6) and phenyl isothiocyanate. Sulphonamides were synthesised by the reaction of 2-aryl/aryloxymethyl-1,3,4-oxa(thia)diazol-2-sulphonyl chlorides (2 and 5) with ammonia. All the compounds have been tested for fungicidal activity against the fungal species Cephalosporium saccharii and Helminthosporium oryzae. The two species of the aquatic fungi viz. Saprolegnia parasitica and Achlya orion responsible for fish mycoses were tested and also found remarkably active. All the compounds were also tested for herbicidal activity against Digiteria ciliaris, Oryza sativa and Raphunus sativa.

TL;DR: Mimusops elengi Linn can be used as larvicidal and molluscicidal agent against harmful pests/vectors and mimusopic acid exhibited anti HIV reverse transcriptase activity.
Abstract: Mimusops elengi Linn. (Maulsari) has been used in traditional medicine to provide alternative therapy for the treatment of many disorders. The active components in different parts of M. elengi are tannin, saponin, quercitol, d-mannitol, quercetin, alkaloids, taraxerol and inorganic salts. Studies on the medicinal and biological importance of M. elengi have been reported in different parts of the world. In traditional medicine system of Ayurveda M. elengi bark is used as Danta Pavana. In modern study its medicinal properties is demonstrate that M. elengi used as antimicrobial, antiviral, anthelmintic, antiulcer, antiinflammatory, diuretic, antianxiety, antihyperlipidemic, anticonvulsant, analgesic, antipyretic, antioxidant, cytotoxic, antidiabetic and hypotensive activity. Mimusops elengi can be used as larvicidal and molluscicidal agent against harmful pests/vectors. Seed of M. elengi has mimusopic acid exhibited anti HIV reverse transcriptase activity. The present review focuses on the advancement of research on the medicinal and biological aspects of M. elengi

TL;DR: In this paper, a condensation product of bisphenol-A and sebacic acid, was irradiated with 60Co γ rays and Viscosity, end-group analysis, and IR spectral measurement techniques were used to study the chemical changes occurring during γ radiolysis.
Abstract: Poly-(4,4′-isopropylidene diphenylene sebacate) (PIDPS), a condensation product of bisphenol-A and sebacic acid, was irradiated with 60Co γ rays. Viscosity, end-group analysis, and IR spectral measurement techniques were used to study the chemical changes occurring during γ radiolysis. It is observed that PIDPS undergoes random chain scission owing to weak links which may be present or be incorporated by the oxygen from air. The G value of random chain scission is estimated to be 9, whereas the enthalpy of fusion is found to be 6.2 kcal/mol repeat unit of PIDPS.

TL;DR: Long-term treatment with chlorpyrifos provoked hypocalcemia and prolactin cells of treated fish exhibited slight degranulation after 21 days whereas the nuclear volume remained unchanged after 28 days, and decrease in the serum calcium levels was caused.
Abstract: In the present study, an organophosphorus compound Coroban (active ingredient chlorpyrifos - E.C. 20%) was used. In short-term exposure the fish were subjected to 0.8 of 96h LC50 value of chlorpyrifos (1.76 mg L -1 ) for 96h. In long-term exposure the experiment was performed for 28 days by using 0.2 of 96h LC50 value of chlorpyrifos (0.44 mg L -1 ). Fish were killed on each time intervals from control and experimental (chlorpyrifos) groups after 24, 48, 72, and 96h in short-term exposure and after 7, 14, 21, and 28 days in long-term experiment. Blood samples were collected and sera were analyzed for calcium. Pituitary glands were fixed for histological studies and stained with Herlant tetrachrome and Heidenhain's azan techniques. Short-term exposure of chlorpyrifos caused decrease in the serum calcium levels. No change was noticed in the prolactin cells of chlorpyrifos treated fish. Long-term treatment with chlorpyrifos provoked hypocalcemia. The prolactin cells of treated fish exhibited slight degranulation after 21 days whereas the nuclear volume remained unchanged. After 28 days, the prolactin cells exhibited further degranulation and the nuclear volume recorded an increase. Cytolysis and vacuolization were also visible.
