23 Jan 2004TL;DR: In this paper, the authors proposed a multileaf collimator control part for providing a slope to a dose distribution in the overlapping area of the respective irradiation zones, so that the dose distribution over the entire surface of the target including an overlapping area is made flat or uniform by the plurality of irradiations of the radiation beam.
Abstract: An irradiation apparatus has a large irradiation field and is capable of ensuring the uniformity of a dose distribution without strengthening the performance of an irradiation field enlarging device. The irradiation apparatus includes a beam interruption part for performing a plurality of irradiations of a radiation beam, a position control part for controlling a location to be irradiated in such a manner that the entire surface of the target can be irradiated in a plurality of irradiation zones including an overlapping area formed by the plurality of irradiations, and a multileaf collimator control part for providing a slope to a dose distribution in the overlapping area of the respective irradiation zones, so that the dose distribution over the entire surface of the target including the overlapping area is made flat or uniform by the plurality of irradiations of the radiation beam.

23 May 2010TL;DR: A novel DAG rank computation method and a reverse path recording mechanism are proposed, which enables real-time automated meter reading and real- time remote utility management in the AMI.
Abstract: In this paper, we present a routing protocol design and implementation for the Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) in Smart Grid. The proposed protocol implementation is based on the framework of the IPv6 Routing Protocol for Low Power and Lossy Networks (RPL), which is proposed by IETF and currently still in its design phase. RPL is based on the idea of maintaining a directed acyclic graph (DAG) structure for the network. We provide a practical implementation of RPL with a number of proper modifications so as to fit into the AMI structure and meet stringent requirements enforced by the AMI. In particular, we propose a novel DAG rank computation method and a reverse path recording mechanism, which enables real-time automated meter reading and real-time remote utility management in the AMI. Our proposed routing protocol design for AMI networks is validated through extensive simulations.

TL;DR: A novel mechanism that regulates the cellular responsiveness to Wg/Wnt by controlling the cell surface level of Frizzled is unveiled, which is regulated by deubiquitylating enzyme UBPY/ubiquitin‐specific protease 8 (USP8).
Abstract: Wingless (Wg)/Wnt has been proposed to exert various functions as a morphogen depending on the levels of its signalling. Therefore, not just the concentration of Wg/Wnt, but also the responsiveness of Wg/Wnt-target cells to the ligand, must have a crucial function in controlling cellular outputs. Here, we show that a balance of ubiquitylation and deubiquitylation of the Wg/Wnt receptor Frizzled determines the cellular responsiveness to Wg/Wnt both in mammalian cells and in Drosophila, and that the cell surface level of Frizzled is regulated by deubiquitylating enzyme UBPY/ubiquitin-specific protease 8 (USP8). Although ubiquitylated Frizzled underwent lysosomal trafficking and degradation, UBPY/USP8-dependent deubiquitylation led to recycling of Frizzled to the plasma membrane, thereby elevating its surface level. Importantly, a gain and loss of UBPY/USP8 function led to up- and down-regulation, respectively, of canonical Wg/Wnt signalling. These results unveil a novel mechanism that regulates the cellular responsiveness to Wg/Wnt by controlling the cell surface level of Frizzled.

27 Sep 1989TL;DR: A shape memory polyurethane elastomer molded article formed from polyamide elastomers is described in this article, which has a degree of crystallinity of 3∼50 wt%, contains approximately equal amounts of [NCO] groups and [OH] groups at the terminals of the polymer, and is polymerized by the prepolymer method from a difunctional diisocyanate, a diifunctionally polyol, and a diisfunctional polyol containing active hydrogen groups.
Abstract: A shape memory polyurethane elastomer molded article formed from a polyurethane elastomer which has a degree of crystallinity of 3∼50 wt%, contains approximately equal amounts of [NCO] groups and [OH] groups at the terminals of the polymer, and is polymerized by the prepolymer method from a difunctional diisocyanate, a difunctional polyol, and a difunctional chain extender containing active hydrogen groups, which are formulated in a molar ratio of diisocyanate : polyol : chain extender = 2.00∼1.10 : 1.00 : 1.00∼0.10, preferably 1.80∼1.20 : 1.00 : 0.80∼0.20. It is capable of melt molding such as injection molding, extrusion molding, and blow molding, and ean be manufactured freely without being restricted by the shape of the molded article.
