TL;DR: In this article, a highly efficient and highly reliable scroll fluid machine that suppresses fluctuations in port aperture area during each revolution of an orbiting scroll while ensuring port aperture areas is presented, where suction ports for sucking in a working fluid are disposed on a second base plate so as to have openings in a vicinity of a winding start end portion of a second spiral tooth.
Abstract: The present invention provides a highly efficient and highly reliable scroll fluid machine that suppresses fluctuations in port aperture area during each revolution of an orbiting scroll while ensuring port aperture area. In the present scroll fluid machine, suction ports for sucking in a working fluid are disposed on a second base plate so as to have openings in a vicinity of a winding start end portion of a second spiral tooth, and near an inward facing surface of the second spiral tooth at a position that is separated by an involute angle of approximately 90° from the winding start end portion of the second spiral tooth. Discharge ports for discharging the working fluid are disposed on a first base plate so as to have openings in a vicinity of a winding start end portion of a first spiral tooth, and near an inward facing surface of the first spiral tooth at a position that is separated by an involute angle of approximately 90° from the winding start end portion of the first spiral tooth.

31 Mar 2011TL;DR: In this paper, it is shown how to obtain an engine starting device in which, at the time of initial engagement of a first pinion gear and an engine, a void having a predetermined size for expanding the inclined state is formed between a surface of an end surface portion of the first pivot gear on the side of the end surface part of the second pivot gear.
Abstract: It is possible to obtain an engine starting device in which, at the time of initial engagement of a first pinion gear and an engine starting gear, in a case where the first pinion gear collides with the engine starting gear, the first pinion gear is inclined with respect to the second pinion gear, a void having a predetermined size for expanding the inclined state is formed between a surface of an end surface portion of the first pinion gear on the side of an end surface portion of the second pinion gear, and a surface of an end surface portion of the second pinion gear on the side of the end surface portion of the first pinion gear, even in a case where any one of the rotation speed of the engine starting gear and the rotation speed of the pinion gear is larger than the other, rotation synchronization of the engine starting gear and the pinion gear and phase focusing of the teeth between the engine starting gear and the pinion gear is further rapidly and further reliably performed at the time when the engine starting gear and the pinion gear is abutted to each other, noise is decreased, and shortening of the life due to abrasion can be suppressed.

TL;DR: In this article, the effect of operational potential on the cell voltage decay rate in a phosphoric acid fuel cell was estimated using the calculation of the platinum dissolution rate using the relationship between the activation polarization and the platinum surface area.
Abstract: The effect of operational potential on the cell voltage decay rate in a phosphoric acid fuel cell was estimated using the calculation of the platinum dissolution rate The voltage loss, due to deterioration in activation polarization, was used in calculating the cell voltage decay rate The voltage loss due to activation polarization was estimated using the relationship between the activation polarization and the platinum surface area The change in the Pt surface area, arising from the dissolution of platinum, was obtained under accelerated open circuit voltage (ocv) conditions The study was focused on typical voltage decay rates from 01 to 10 mV per 1000 h It was found that the cell voltage decay became significant even at low temperature during long-term operation (at ocv) and that the cell had to be operated below 840 mV (iR-free) at 200 mA cm−2) 200°C for a decay rate of 1 mV per 1000 h From the present estimation, operational conditions such as temperature, cathode potential, and holding time at a given potential, can be roughly determined for a given decay rate It was concluded that the voltage loss due to platinum dissolution may be negligible at a rated power operation

21 Jul 2011TL;DR: In this article, a motion compensation prediction unit (5) selects a motion vector appropriate for generating a prediction image, from among one or more selectable motion vectors, generates a image by executing a motion prediction process for the coding block using the motion vector, and outputs index information indicating the motion vectors to a variable length encoding unit (13).
Abstract: When the encoding mode corresponding to a coding block divided by a block division unit (2) is an inter-encoding mode of a direct mode, a motion compensation prediction unit (5) selects a motion vector appropriate for generating a prediction image, from among one or more selectable motion vectors, generates a prediction image by executing a motion compensation prediction process for the coding block using the motion vector, and outputs index information indicating the motion vector to a variable length encoding unit (13); and the variable length encoding unit (13) performs variable length encoding of the index information.
