09 Mar 2006TL;DR: In this article, a drift layer 2 is formed on a silicon carbide semiconductor substrate and a source region 5 is formed in the upper surface of the high concentration well region 3b and a JTE (junction termination extension) or a guard ring (high breakdown voltage retainable region 4) are formed on the outer periphery of an element.
Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a silicon carbide semiconductor device or the like capable of manufacturing the silicon carbide semiconductor device, in which a high concentration well region and a low concentration well region are formed so as to be located in a line in the view of section while a source region is formed in the high concentration well region at a low cost. SOLUTION: A drift layer 2 is formed on a silicon carbide semiconductor substrate 1. The high concentration well region 3b is formed in the surface of the drift layer 2. Further, the low concentration well region 3a is formed in the surface of the drift layer 2, and neighbored to the high concentration well region 3b in the view of section while being lower in an impurity concentration than that in the high concentration well region 3b and a channel. Further, a source region 5 is formed in the upper surface of the high concentration well region 3b. Further, a JTE (junction termination extension) or a guard ring (high breakdown voltage retainable region 4) is formed on the outer periphery of an element. Furthermore, the low concentration well region 3a and the high breakdown voltage retainable region 4 are provided with the same impurity distribution. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT

TL;DR: BSW intervention therapy is an effective way to treat fatigue and emesis and is a new therapeutic method that can be used in palliative medicine.
Abstract: Background: The bedside wellness system (BSW) is effective for decreasing stress and improving mental well-being and should help relieve the side effects and mental disorders of patients during cancer chemotherapy. Methods: The study was a randomized clinical trial. After giving informed consent, patients were randomly assigned to the BSW intervention or control groups. The patients were given the Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale (HADS) test before the trial to evaluate their emotional baseline. The Cancer Fatigue Scale, which was developed at our institute, and face visual analog scale were used to measure the emotional state and subjective feelings before and after the trial. The degree of emesis was measured using a visual analogue scale after the experience. We set up the system in a room in the outpatient clinic of the National Cancer Center New Hospital Building. Results: The decreases in the fatigue score and emesis score 3–5 days after chemotherapy were statistically significant (both p < 0.05) and carry-over effects were detected. Conclusions: BSW intervention therapy is an effective way to treat fatigue and emesis. This virtual reality system is a new therapeutic method that can be used in palliative medicine.

TL;DR: This paper deals with the attitude behavior of a spacecraft with a rotor during extension of flexible appendages using a spacecraft modal coordinate scheme based on the method of multiple scales.
Abstract: This paper deals with the attitude behavior of a spacecraft with a rotor during extension of flexible appendages. The analysis is based on the method of multiple scales. The equations of motion are formulated using a spacecraft modal coordinate scheme. The analytical expressions for the attitude behavior of the spacecraft are obtained. The extension of the appendages plays a significant role in the stability of the attitude motion of the spacecraft: In some cases, the attitude motion of the spacecraft will become unstable.

TL;DR: In this article, a light detection circuit is configured to detect the presence or absence of light directed at the light sensing element upon receiving an output of the light sensor, which is connected to the light detector for a predetermined interval during the second scanning period.
Abstract: An image display device includes: a source wiring; a first gate wiring intersecting the source wiring to scan a first pixel electrode corresponding to a first scanning period; a second gate wiring adjacent to the first gate wiring to scan a second pixel electrode corresponding to a second scanning period consecutive to the first scanning period; a read signal line disposed in parallel to the source wiring; a light sensing element connected to the second gate wiring and the read signal line; and a light detection circuit configured to detect the presence or absence of light directed at the light sensing element upon receiving an output of the light sensing element. The first pixel electrode and the second pixel electrode are AC driven in the same polarity. The output of the light sensing element is connected to the light detection circuit for a predetermined interval during the second scanning period.
