TL;DR: The proposed adaptive observers are shown to be robust with respect to unmodeled process uncertainties and the design tradeoff between the convergence rate and the robustness of the estimation error dynamics withrespect to the measurement noise is shown.
Abstract: This paper considers the state of charge (SoC) and parameter estimation of lithium-ion batteries. Different from various prior arts, where estimation is based on local linearization of a nonlinear battery model, nonlinear geometric observer approach is followed to design adaptive observers for the SoC and parameter estimation based on nonlinear battery models. A major advantage of the proposed approach is the possibility to establish the exponential stability of the resultant error dynamics of state and parameter estimation. The proposed adaptive observers are shown to be robust with respect to unmodeled process uncertainties. Analysis also shows the design tradeoff between the convergence rate and the robustness of the estimation error dynamics with respect to the measurement noise. Simulation and experimental results validate the effectiveness and main advantages of the proposed approach. Error analysis is presented and explains the experimental results.

26 Aug 1991TL;DR: In this article, a method for rewriting four defect management areas on an optical disk according to an ECMA standard is performed by means of deleting an old data which has been recorded on the respective fault management areas and then sequentially writing down a new data on respective defect management area.

23 Mar 1999TL;DR: In this article, the shape of the lens arrays of a liquid crystal projector was shown to be similar to those for light utilization of a red-light-transmission liquid crystal panel.
Abstract: A liquid crystal projector having a simple optical system and operating at a high efficiency of use of light, comprises a light-emitting device (50), a parallel transforming optical system (60), an optical switch (70), and a display optical system (80). The light-emitting device (50) includes LD arrays (51, 52, 53) where semiconductor lasers (54) are arranged two-dimensionally. The output beams from the semiconductor lasers (54) are transformed into parallel beams by means of the lens arrays (61, 62, 63). Since the output beams from the semiconductor lasers (54) are linearly P- or S-polarized, no polarization transforming optical system is needed. By adequately combining semiconductor lasers (54), the shapes of the LD arrays (51, 52, 53) can be the same as those for light utilization of a red-light transmission liquid crystal panel (71), a green-light transmission liquid crystal panel (72), and a blue-light transmission liquid crystal panel (73).

18 Oct 1989TL;DR: In this paper, a double gate static induction thyristor was proposed, where gate electrodes are formed on the first and second gate regions, and main electrodes are created on the main electrodes, so that portions of the semiconductor regions surrounded by the gate regions formed a current path between the gate electrodes.
Abstract: A double gate static induction thyristor comprises a semiconductor substrate, a first gate region formed at a first principal surface of the substrate, and a first semiconductor region of a first conduction type formed on the same first principal surface. A second gate region is formed at a second principal surface of the substrate, and a second semiconductor region of a second conduction type is formed on the same second principal surface. Gate electrodes are formed on the first and second gate regions, and main electrodes are formed on the first and second semiconductor regions, so that portions of the semiconductor regions surrounded by the gate regions form a current path between the main electrodes. Further, impurity is deeply diffused in portions of the first and second gate regions formed with the gate electrodes.
