TL;DR: In this paper, a system is provided for reconstruction the 3D motions of a human figure from a monocularly viewed image sequence in which a statistical approach is used coupled with the use of a set of motion capture examples to build a gaussian probability model for short human motion sequences.
Abstract: A system is provided for reconstruction the 3-dimensional motions of a human figure from a monocularly viewed image sequence in which a statistical approach is used coupled with the use of a set of motion capture examples to build a gaussian probability model for short human motion sequences. In a simplified rendering domain, this yields an optimal 3-d estimate of human motion used to create realistic animations given a 2-d temporal sequence. The subject system is also useful to identify which motion modes are difficult to estimate. In one embodiment, a stick figure is overlaid on the input video image to allow manual correction of incorrectly tracked body parts. The utilization of stick figure correction permits manual correction for a more accurate 3-d reconstruction of the motion depicted in the input video sequence. An interactive tracking system processes real video sequences, and achieves good 3-d reconstructions of the human figure motion.

TL;DR: The comparison between experiment and calculation results shows that this method is effective as a designing step with only the time domain voltage and current data obtained from simulation results.
Abstract: A newly developed electrothermal calculation method is implemented to estimate the power loss and working temperature of insulated gate bipolar transistor (IGBT) devices. Based on the measurement of the IGBT's characteristics, the exact estimation of power loss considering the junction temperature is introduced. Then, the thermal network is used to calculate the working temperature. The comparison between experimental and calculation results shows that this method is effective as a designing step with only the time-domain voltage and current data obtained from simulation results.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors proposed new method of high performance current and voltage control of three phase PWM inverter, especially suitable for high speed switching devices such as Transistor and BIMOS.
Abstract: This paper proposes new method of high performance current and/or voltage control of three phase PWM inverter, especially suitable for high speed switching devices such as Transistor and BIMOS. As the controller for calculation of the dead beat algorism, a high speed digital controller, such as the digital signal processor is assumed. Following new methods are successfully adopted and combined to realize high quality. (1) Three phase inverter current and voltage are transformed to synchronizing d-q-0 frame, and discretized equations of current and voltage are derived, which clearly reveal coupling of voltage and current of inverter on d-q frame. (2) Using above discretized equation of main circuit, algorism of Dead Beat control with compensation for decoupling is developed. (3) New method for compensation of computing time delay and full utilization of sampling interval for inverter output pulse width is developed, which utilizes 2nd order load current prediction and discretization with twice time of sampling period. (4) Double Dead Beat control system is developed for sinusoidal output voltage inverter, which has high speed current minor loop to constrain inverter current within safety limit. Validity of these techniques has been confirmed by simulation using a hybrid computer.

TL;DR: The definition of tree-adjoining derivation must be reformulated in order to manifest the proper linguistic dependencies in derivations, and the particular proposal is both precisely characterizable, through a compilation to linear indexed grammars, and computationally operational, by virtue of an efficient algorithm for recognition and parsing.
Abstract: The precise formulation of derivation for tree-adjoining grammars has important ramifications for a wide variety of uses of the formalism, from syntactic analysis to semantic interpretation and statistical language modeling We argue that the definition of tree-adjoining derivation must be reformulated in order to manifest the proper linguistic dependencies in derivations The particular proposal is both precisely characterizable through a definition of TAG derivations as equivalence classes of ordered derivation trees, and computationally operational, by virtue of a compilation to linear indexed grammars together with an efficient algorithm for recognition and parsing according to the compiled grammar
