TLDR
In this article, theoretical and phenomenological aspects of two-Higgs-doublet extensions of the Standard Model are discussed and a careful study of spontaneous CP violation is presented, including an analysis of the conditions which have to be satisfied in order for a vacuum to violate CP.

Nonperturbative analysis of the electroweak phase transition in the two Higgs doublet model

TL;DR: In this paper, a nonperturbative study of the electroweak phase transition in the two Higgs doublet model (2HDM) was performed by deriving a dimensionally reduced high-temperature effective theory for the model and matching to known results for the phase diagram of the effective theory.

Particle Dark Matter constraints: the effect of Galactic uncertainties

TL;DR: In this article, the authors present a systematic, quantitative estimate of how astrophysical uncertainties on Galactic quantities (such as the local galactocentric distance, circular velocity, or the morphology of the stellar disk and bulge) propagate to the determination of the phenomenology of particle physics models, thus eventually affecting the determined parameters of new physics parameters.
Journal ArticleDOI

Gauge-independent $\overline{MS}$ renormalization in the 2HDM

TL;DR: In this article, a consistent renormalization scheme for the CP-conserving Two-Higgs-Doublet Model based on the mixing angles and the soft-Z −1 sb 2-symmetry-breaking scale was presented.

Search for a Charged Higgs Boson Produced in the Vector-boson Fusion Mode with Decay H ± →W ± Z using pp Collisions at √s=8 TeV with the ATLAS Experiment

Georges Aad, +2811 more
TL;DR: A search for a charged Higgs boson, H(±), decaying to a W(±) boson and a Z boson is presented and the limits are compared with predictions from the Georgi-Machacek Higgs triplet model.

Higgs Strahlung at the Large Hadron Collider in the 2-Higgs-doublet model

TL;DR: In this article, the authors present a calculation of all relevant contributions to associated production of a Higgs boson with a weak gauge boson in the 2-Higgs doublet model at the LHC, pp → ϕ, with ϕ ∈ {h, H 0, 0, A} and V ∈ [W, Z}.

CP Conservation in the Presence of Pseudoparticles

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors give an explanation of the conservation of strong interactions which includes the effects of pseudoparticles, and they find it is a natural result for any theory where at least one flavor of fermion acquires its mass through a Yukawa coupling to a scalar field which has nonvanishing vacuum expectation value.
Journal ArticleDOI

Broken Symmetries and the Masses of Gauge Bosons

TL;DR: In this paper, it was shown that the spin-one quanta of some of the gauge fields acquire mass; the longitudinal degrees of freedom of these particles (which would be absent if their mass were zero) go over into the Goldstone bosons when the coupling tends to zero.
Journal ArticleDOI

Broken Symmetry and the Mass of Gauge Vector Mesons

TL;DR: In this paper, it was shown that in certain cases vector mesons do indeed acquire mass when the vacuum is degenerate with respect to a compact Lie group, and that strong interaction physics originates from massive gauge fields related to a system of conserved currents.
