MiR-125a targets effector programs to stabilize Treg-mediated immune homeostasis

TL;DR: It is shown that miR-125a is downregulated in peripheral CD4(+) T cells of human autoimmune diseases including systemic lupus erythematosus and Crohn's disease, and relevant autoimmune mouse models, and it is pointed to as a critical factor that controls autoimmune diseases by stabilizing Treg-mediated immune homeostasis.
Journal ArticleDOI

COP9 signalosome subunit 8 is essential for peripheral T cell homeostasis and antigen receptor-induced entry into the cell cycle from quiescence.

TL;DR: It is reported that T cell homeostasis and antigen-induced responses require the COP9 signalosome (CSN), a regulator of the ubiquitin-proteasome system, which is essential for antigen- induced initiation of T cell proliferation.
Journal ArticleDOI

TGF-β signaling in dendritic cells is a prerequisite for the control of autoimmune encephalomyelitis

TL;DR: It is found that MOG35–55 immunization of CD11cdnR mice results in strong inflammation of CNS, high frequency of T cells in CNS, increased levels of T helper 1 (TH1) and TH17 cytokines in the periphery, and lack of remission from EAE.
Journal ArticleDOI

Role of the Executioner Caspases during Lens Development

TL;DR: In this paper, the role of executioner caspases (caspase-3, -6, and -7) in fiber cell differentiation was determined in the mouse lens using confocal microscopy.
Journal Article

Borrelia burgdorferi strain 25015: characterization of outer surface protein A and vaccination against infection.

TL;DR: It is shown that OspA-N40 immunized mice are protected against challenge with strain 297, isolated from the cerebrospinal fluid of a patient with neuroborreliosis, but not against challenge from a tick in Millbrook, NY.
