Abstract: A semiconductor device with a thin film having a high dielectric constant and uniform film thickness. The semiconductor device comprises, in an embodiment, an electrode which is made of a metal or a metal nitride and which is formed on a silicon layer via a dielectric film. The dielectric film has a multi-layer structure comprising an amorphous oxide film on the side of the silicon layer and a metal oxide film on the side of the electrode. In another embodiment, the semiconductor device comprises an electrode which is made of silicon (Si) or a silicon germanium (SiGe) and which is formed on a silicon layer via a dielectric film. In such case, the dielectric film has a multi-layer structure comprising a first amorphous oxide film on the side of the silicon layer, a second amorphous oxide film on the side of the electrode, and a metal oxide film between the first and second amorphous oxide films.

Abstract: In a printed-wiring board, first and second hard substrates each having electronic components mounted thereon are connected through a flexible substrate interposed therebetween. A circuit pattern printed on each of the hard and flexible substrates electrically connects the electronic components mounted on the hard substrates through the flexible substrate. The circuit pattern includes a plurality of parallel-connected signal lines. The parallel-connected signal lines are spatially separated on the flexible substrate, and the both ends of the parallel-connected signal lines are located in the hard substrates, respectively. A single signal line of the circuit pattern branches on one hard substrate into the parallel-connected signal lines, which extend through the flexible substrate and are converged to a single signal line on the other hard substrate.

Abstract: A pipeline scheduler provides a minimum bandwidth guarantee by transporting cells from an input port to an output port in a two-phased approach. Cells that conform to a minimum cell rate (MCR) are selected from queues at the input port and arranged into supercells for transport to the output port, followed by nonconforming cells, to guarantee fairness by using scheduling modules to build the supercells first for conforming cells, and then for nonconforming cells. Reservation vectors are used to permit the same time slot of the next frame to be reserved by a first queue, and the same time slot of the following time frame to be held for reservation by a second queue, to ensure equal time slot access by the first and second queues over successive time frames.

Abstract: An exemplary cluster system according to the present invention includes a first node including a plurality of paths respectively connected to I/O slots via a switch and a second node including a plurality of paths connected to the switch, wherein the first node includes a first load measuring part which measures a first load for each path thereof, and the switch makes switching to disconnect an I/O slot from the first node and connect the I/O slot to the second node when the first load of the path connected to the I/O slot is higher than a first threshold.
