TL;DR: In this article, a content addressable memory system includes one retrieval sense amplifier provided in common with a plurality of memory words, and a logic operation between a result of retrieval outputted from the sense amplifier and the result of a preceding retrieval stored in a one-bit working register provided for the same sense amplifier is carried out by a control gate also provided for a sense amplifier, and the results of the logic operation is stored back in the same working register.
Abstract: A content addressable memory system includes one retrieval sense amplifier provided in common with a plurality of memory words. A logic operation between a result of retrieval outputted from the sense amplifier and the result of a preceding retrieval stored in a one-bit working register provided for the same sense amplifier is carried out by a control gate also provided for the same sense amplifier, and the result of the logic operation is stored back in the same working register. A plurality of working registers may be provided for each control gate and sense amplifier. The content addressable memory system can retrieve a variable word length data and can be realized with a reduced circuit area.

TL;DR: An advanced groupband data modem based on the orthogonally multiplexed QAM technique is proposed, which becomes more immune to Gaussian noises, impulsive noises, and channel distortions, compared to the conventional Class IV partial response VSB modem.
Abstract: An advanced groupband data modem based on the orthogonally multiplexed QAM technique is proposed. Its performance is evaluated through experiments. In the proposed modem, data are transmitted by a number of orthogonally multiplexed parallel subchannels. Because of this orthogonally multiplexing parallelism, the proposed modem becomes more immune to Gaussian noises, impulsive noises, and channel distortions, compared to the conventional Class IV partial response VSB modem. Furthermore, the orthogonally multiplexed QAM modem retains high flexibility in multiplexing a variety of data terminals and in carrying out fallback operation to a wide range of data rates. Experimental results demonstrate the robustness of the proposed groupband data modem.

TL;DR: In this paper, a drive circuit for a display apparatus includes a gradation voltage generation circuit and a D/A conversion circuit, which is used to drive a light emitting element of a pixel through a data line with a gradient voltage based on one of the first gradation voltages as a first specific gradient voltage in a precharge period.
Abstract: A drive circuit for a display apparatus includes a gradation voltage generation circuit and a D/A conversion circuit. The gradation voltage generation circuit generates a plurality of different first gradation voltages and a plurality of different second gradation voltages. The D/A conversion circuit drives a light emitting element of a pixel through a data line with a gradation voltage based on one of the first gradation voltages as a first specific gradation voltage in a precharge period and drives the light emitting element of the pixel through the data line with a gradation current based on one of the second gradation voltages as a second specific gradation voltage. The D/A conversion circuit includes a voltage driver to drive the light emitting element, and a current driver to drive the light emitting element.

TL;DR: This paper presents AMORE's user interface and explains the technique for retrieving images visually similar to a user specified image, and develops a Query Result Visualization Environment that allows the organization of the results if many images are retrieved.
Abstract: Search engines are useful because they allow the user to find information of interest from the World Wide Web. However, most of the popular search engines today are textuals they do not allow the user to find images from the Web. This paper describes AMORE, a Web search engine that allows the user to retrieve images from the Web by specifying relevant keywords or a similar image. Text and image search can also be combined. Moreover, we have developed a Query Result Visualization Environment that allows the organization of the results if many images are retrieved. In this paper we present AMORE’s user interface and explain the technique for retrieving images visually similar to a user specified image. The method of automatically assigning relevant keywords to the images is then explained. Finally, the architecture of the system as well as some interesting observations of our experiences with AMORE are discussed.

TL;DR: A security policy management system for deriving a security policy from setting details of security devices as components of an information system includes a setting information storage unit for storing setting information representing settings with regard to security functions of devices included in a network system to be managed.
Abstract: A security policy management system for deriving a security policy from setting details of security devices as components of an information system includes a setting information storage unit for storing setting information representing settings with regard to security functions of devices included in a network system to be managed, and a general-purpose security policy generator for generating a security policy including a description expressed in a format independent of descriptions depending on particular devices, based on the setting information stored in the setting information storage unit.
