Journal ArticleDOI

Solanum torvum Swartz. fruit containing phenolic compounds shows antidiabetic and antioxidant effects in streptozotocin induced diabetic rats

TL;DR: Findings suggest that S. torvum fruit containing phenolic compounds has great potential as a natural source of antidiabetic and antioxidant drug.
Journal ArticleDOI

Trigonella foenum-graecum ameliorates acrylamide-induced toxicity in rats: Roles of oxidative stress, proinflammatory cytokines, and DNA damage

TL;DR: Fenugreek oil supplementation normalized the altered serum parameters, prevented lipid peroxidation, and enhanced the antioxidant biomarker concentrations and activities in the hepatic, renal, and brain tissues of acrylamide-intoxicated rats in a dose-dependent manner.
Journal ArticleDOI

Response of arsenic-induced oxidative stress, DNA damage, and metal imbalance to combined administration of DMSA and monoisoamyl-DMSA during chronic arsenic poisoning in rats

TL;DR: Co-administration of DMSA and MiADMSA at lower dose was most effective not only in reducing arsenic-induced oxidative stress but also in depleting arsenic from blood and soft tissues compared to other treatments, and was able to repair DNA damage caused following arsenic exposure.
Journal ArticleDOI

Role of hepatocellular regeneration in CCl4 autoprotection.

TL;DR: Hepatocellular regeneration stimulated by the protective dose, as a biological response recruited to overcome the accompanying limited injury, may augment and sustain tissue repair processes to permit tissue restoration even after the massive liver injury elicited by the subsequent large dose of CCl4.
