Journal ArticleDOI

Dose-dependent toxicity of CCl4 in isolated rat hepatocytes and the effects of hepatoprotective treatments.

TL;DR: The findings suggest that the isolated hepatocyte preparation is a suitable model for demonstrating time and dose-dependent toxic effects, but also suggest that there may be differences in mechanism compared with other experimental models.
Journal ArticleDOI

The impact of menthol essential oil against inflammation, immunosuppression, and histopathological alterations induced by chlorpyrifos in Nile tilapia.

TL;DR: MNT activated the immunity, antioxidative, and anti-inflammatory responses of Nile tilapia under CPF toxicity, and revealed that inflammation existed in the liver, gills, and intestine oftilapia due to CPFoxicity while MNT protected tissues from inflammation.

Biochemical changes in experimental diabetes before and after treatment with mangifera indica and psidium guava extracts

TL;DR: Investigation of the hypoglycemic effect of Mangifera indica and Psidium guajava aqueous extracts and the effect of glibenclamide as reference sulfonylureas drug revealed great alleviation of the impaired glucose tolerance, serum insulin and hepatic glycogen content, also serum and liver total protein contents were increased as a result of treatment.
Journal ArticleDOI

Evaluation of the protective effect of Nigella sativa extract and its primary active component thymoquinone against DMBA-induced breast cancer in female rats

TL;DR: TQ and then BCS oil reduced the rate of tumor markers, inhibited the histopathological alterations and decreased the expression of the Brca1, Brca2, Id-1 and P53 mutations in mammary tissues of female rats induced by DMBA treatment, suggesting that TQ and BCSOil exert a protective effect against breast carcinogens.
