Journal ArticleDOI

Long term human studies on the lipid effects of oral calcium.

TL;DR: Calcium carbonate should be considered as a potential agent for usage in long term studies designed to produce hypolipemia, since it appears to be effective and without significant side effects.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effect of allicin on antioxidant defense system, and immune response after carbofuran exposure in Nile tilapia, Oreochromis niloticus.

TL;DR: It is suggested that co- administration of allicin at the high dose is more capable of improving the biochemical, and immunological parameters, and tissue antioxidant responses of carbofuran treated fish.
Journal ArticleDOI

Dietary combination of chitosan nanoparticle and thymol affects feed utilization, digestive enzymes, antioxidant status, and intestinal morphology of Oreochromis niloticus

TL;DR: Conclusively, although the individual addition THY or ChNP improved growth and some health indications, a notable synergistic interaction was obvious following their co-addition in most indicators.
Journal ArticleDOI

Dietary arginine requirement for gibel carp (Carassis auratus gibelio var. CAS III) reduces with fish size from 50 g to 150 g associated with modulation of genes involved in TOR signaling pathway

TL;DR: Investigation of the dietary arginine requirement in two sizes of gibel carp using diets containing casein and precoated crystalline amino acids as the main protein sources found whole body and dorsal muscle protein content first significantly increased, and then reached a plateau or slightly declined, while protein retention efficiency showed the same trend with protein content in big fish, but not in small fish.
Journal ArticleDOI

Protein quality of shrimp-waste meal

TL;DR: Protein efficiency ratio, net protein retention and net protein utilization were best, and the protein efficiency ratio and netprotein utilization were increased in a balanced experiment with rats.
