Journal ArticleDOI
Protection of hepatotoxic and lethal effects of CCl4 by partial hepatectomy.
Prasada Rao S. Kodavanti,Urmila M. Joshi,Robert A. Young,Edward F. Meydrech,Harihara M. Mehendale +4 more
TL;DR: The findings show that the progressive phase of a single high dose of CCl4 injury which normally culminates in hepatotoxic and lethal effects is significantly mitigated by previously stimulated hepatocellular regeneration.
Journal ArticleDOI
Cimetidine Protects Against Acetaminophen Hepatotoxicity in Rats
TL;DR: A striking protection against acetaminophen hepatotoxicity in cimeti dine-treated rats is observed and cimetidine proved survival and improved ability to metabolize aminopyrine in vivo in rats receiving cimetidine compared with those receiving acetaminphen with out cimeidine.
Journal ArticleDOI
Dietary chitosan nanoparticles enhance the growth, production performance, and immunity in Oreochromis niloticus
TL;DR: It was observed that the addition of ChNP at different levels significantly improved the growth performance, total feed intake, and feed utilization compared to the control group.
Journal ArticleDOI
The use of calcium pre-exposure as a protective agent against environmental copper toxicity for juvenile Nile tilapia, Oreochromis niloticus (L.)
TL;DR: Evaluating the response of Nile tilapia, Oreochromis niloticus, pre-exposed to calcium oxide for 4 days, and exposed to copper for 6 weeks found that the final weight, weight gain and SGR were affected significantly by both Cu concentrations and Ca pre-exposure.
Journal ArticleDOI
Oxidative stress indices and plasma biochemical parameters during oral exposure to arsenic in rats.
TL;DR: It was concluded from the present study that low dose arsenic exposure for a shorter period caused activation of intrinsic antioxidant defense whereas a prolonged insult suppressed it, but biochemical parameters indicative of hepatic and renal dysfunction remained well within the normal range.
