Past participle agreement in Abruzzese: split auxiliary selection and the null-subject parameter

TL;DR: In this article, the authors present an analysis of the person-driven auxiliary-selection system of one variety of the Upper Southern Italo-Romance dialect Abruzzese, along with an account of the pattern of past participle agreement in this variety, which differs somewhat from what is found in more familiar Romance languages.

Abstract: Onceki calismalar oyun ogretmenin onemini vurguladi. Ancak, cocuklarin bire bir dil egitim oturumlarinda tercih ettikleri oyunlar hakkinda az arastirma vardir. Bunun sonucunda, bu makalede, bazi ozel ogretmenlerin bir yabanci dil olarak Ispanyolca'yi (YD I ) cocuklara ogretmek icin kullanildiklari ogretim stratejisi oyunlarini incelemektedir. YD I ozel ders. Elimizde bir vaka calismasi, bir suru gozlem, gunluk kayitlari ve roportajlar vardi. Verileri SFL ozel ogretmenlerinin perspektifinden anlayabilmek icin, Creswell (2012) tarafindan onerilen enduktif yaklasimi kullanarak analiz ettik. Bulgular, oyunlarin dersler sirasinda cocuklari eglendirmesine ragmen, katilimin oyun turune ve ogrencinin tercih ettigi ogrenme stiline bagli oldugunu gostermektedir. Dahasi, bu ulkede YD I egitmeninin gelisimine yonelik tespit edilen tutumlar da vardir.

Coherence as a principle in the interpretation of discourse

TL;DR: Coherence is a geneml principle in the Interpretation of human actions as mentioned in this paper, where the receiver considers that what is said to him shall be coherent, he will manipulate the text in order to extract from it an Interpretation which agrees with his own conception of a coherent text.

Spanish subject pronoun usage and verb semantics revisited: First and second person singular subject pronouns and focusing of attention in spoken Peninsular Spanish

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors examined the influence of semantic and pragmatic factors on subject pronoun usage in Spanish and found that the differences attested in subject pronouns usage between the verbs can be explained by the focusing of attention on the clausal participants of the verbs involved and by the discourse functions of the verb forms in question.
