TL;DR: Inspections programs on the milk supply chain should be strengthened and continuously encouraged so that the health of consumers is preserved.
Abstract: Streptococcus zooepidemicus is an emerging and opportunistic zoonotic pathogen which plays an important role in the development of severe and life-threatening diseases and is potentially capable of triggering large glomerulonephritis outbreaks. Between December 2012 and February 2013, 175 cases of glomerulonephritis were confirmed in the town of Monte Santo de Minas, MG, Brazil. During the outbreak, 19 isolates of S. zooepidemicus were recovered, 1 from ice cream, 2 from the oropharynx of food handlers, and 16 from patients affected by acute poststreptococcal glomerulonephritis (APSGN). All S. zooepidemicus isolates involved in the outbreak amplified the same sequence of the hypervariable region of the SzP protein (SzPHV5) and presented indistinguishable banding patterns with high similarity (>99%) to each other by the repetitive element sequence-based PCR (rep-PCR) technique. Inspection programs on the milk supply chain should be strengthened and continuously encouraged so that the health of consumers is preserved.

TL;DR: The different adhesive systems used for cementing thin ceramic veneers influenced the final color of the indirect restorations and the adhesives curing mode did not present a significant effect in the color stability of thin ceramicveneers.
Abstract: The objective was to evaluate the color stability of thin ceramic veneers as a function of the curing mode (with and without pre-cure) of different adhesive systems applied to the internal surface of ceramics. Five adhesive systems (Scotchbond Multi-Purpose, Single Bond Universal, Gluma 2 Bond, Ambar, and Ambar APS) and photo-cured resin cement (Allcem Veneer) were used for cementing 0.6 mm-thick feldspathic veneers (Mark II) on composite resin substrates (Charisma Diamond). The groups, according to adhesive system, were divided into two subgroups (n=10): i) adhesive and resin cement were polymerized separately (pre-cure of the adhesive), ii) adhesive and resin cement were polymerized simultaneously. The CIELab color parameters were determined with a spectrophotometer at 24h (baseline), 7 days, 30 days and 12 months. Data were analyzed by two-way ANOVA and Tukey's test (α=0.05). The results indicated statistically significant differences for adhesive systems and time. The mode of curing of the adhesive system was not statistically significant: pre-cured adhesives (2.6±1.3) and not pre-cured adhesives (2.8±1.4). For the adhesives, ΔE values varied in the following order: Ambar-APS (1.6±0.5) < Scotchbond Multi-Purpose (2.6±1.2) = Gluma 2 Bond (2.7±1.2) = Ambar (2.9±1.2) < Single Bond Universal (3.5±1.5). For time, ΔE values were: 7 days (1.7±0.7), 30 days (3.5±1.2) and 12 months (2.9±1.3). It can be concluded that the different adhesive systems used for cementing thin ceramic veneers influenced the final color of the indirect restorations. The adhesives curing mode did not present a significant effect in the color stability of thin ceramic veneers.

TL;DR: In this article, the effect of social capital of the board of directors on the market value of Brazilian public companies is analyzed using social network analysis, identifying which are the direct, indirect relations and structural holes of the companies and also measuring the capital represented by each relationship from the market values of these relationships, which composed relational resources.
Abstract: Purpose: We analyze the effect of social capital of the board of directors on the market value of Brazilian public companies. Therefore, we use as an indicator of social capital, relational resources present in the direct ties, indirect and heterogeneous board. Originality/Gap/Relevance/Implications: Pioneeringly, our study indicates that inconsistent results of studies evaluating board interlocking often occur because most studies only consider the centrality and the position of the companies in the network. This way they disregard that relations may have greater or lower degree of social capital. Key methodological aspects: Empirically evaluate the relationship between companies by the directors and managers that they share, which is known as board interlock. Using social network analysis, identified which are the direct, indirect relations and structural holes of the companies, and also we measure the capital represented by each relationship from the market value of these relationships, which composed our measurement relational resources. Then, through econometric models we investigated the effects of relational resources on market value. Summary of key results: Our results showed that heterogeneous relational resources have stronger and more significant influence than available resources in the direct relations of the board, while available resources in indirect relations were not significant. Key considerations/conclusions: We demonstrated that the social capital really matters, because the resources provided by the alters are potential resources that can be used for the benefit of a firm individually, and also considering the heterogeneity of relations, it was found that structural holes are ways to get information and various resources, enabling greater competitive advantage.

TL;DR: Analyzing the young male adult facial profile using standardized photographs and comparing manual measuring procedures to the measuring procedures with the software Cef X (CDT) found that both types of measurement are reliable although the computerized one is more accurate.
Abstract: Aim: To analyze the young male adult facial profile using standardized photographs and compare manual measuring procedures to the measuring procedures with the software Cef X (CDT). METHODS: The sample consisted of 40 Brazilian Caucasian individuals, with an average age of 21.9 years, who possessed pleasant profiles, normal occlusion, and no history of previous orthodontic treatment. Colored photographs measuring 10cm x 15cm were taken in a standard way with the subject in natural head position. The photographs were measured manually, using dial caliper and a protractor, as well as using the Cef X (CDT) computer program. Thirty six facial variables were analyzed with linear, angular, and proportional measurements. RESULTS: Manual and computerized measurement scores presented different statistics to 24 variables. In the computerized method only one measurement showed significant difference between the first and the second measuring whereas in the manual method eight measurements presented differences. CONCLUSION: Considering that there were differences in manual and computerized measurements, one must use respective mean values for each type of measuring procedure. Both types of measurement are reliable although the computerized one is more accurate. Due to the convenience and swiftness of the computerized measuring, it is best recommended.
