Analysis of shared heritability in common disorders of the brain

Verneri Anttila, +720 more
- 22 Jun 2018 -
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that, in the general population, the personality trait neuroticism is significantly correlated with almost every psychiatric disorder and migraine, and it is shown that both psychiatric and neurological disorders have robust correlations with cognitive and personality measures.
Journal ArticleDOI

Meta-analysis of 375,000 individuals identifies 38 susceptibility loci for migraine

Padhraig Gormley, +133 more
- 01 Aug 2016 -
TL;DR: For example, the authors identified 44 independent single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) significantly associated with migraine risk (P < 5 × 10−8) that mapped to 38 distinct genomic loci, including 28 loci not previously reported and a locus that to date is the first to be identified on chromosome X.
Journal ArticleDOI

Genetics of blood lipids among ~300,000 multi-ethnic participants of the Million Veteran Program.

Derek Klarin, +67 more
- 01 Oct 2018 -
TL;DR: Analysis of genetic data and blood lipid measurements from over 300,000 participants in the Million Veteran Program identifies new associations for blood lipid traits and proposes novel indications for pharmaceutical inhibitors targeting PCSK9, ANGPTL4 (type 2 diabetes) and PDE3B (triglycerides and coronary disease).
Journal ArticleDOI

Cross-disorder genomewide analysis of schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and depression.

TL;DR: This study provides the first genomewide significant evidence implicating variants near the ADM gene on chromosome 11p15 in psychopathology, with effects that appear to be specific to bipolar II disorder.
Journal ArticleDOI

Harmonizing Genetic Ancestry and Self-identified Race/Ethnicity in Genome-wide Association Studies

Huaying Fang, +111 more
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that race/ethnicity information enhances the ability to understand population-specific genetic architecture and the utility of HARE and ethnicity-specific GWASs in genome-wide association studies of multi-ethnic cohorts.
