TL;DR: In this paper, the first and second wobble pits are provided on both sides of the center line of each track, and they are spaced with each other in the direction of the track.
Abstract: An optical recording medium includes a groove track and a land track provided on a resin substrate. Each of the tracks is divided into a plurality of sectors for every turn. Each sector has an ID region, a servo region, and an information region. A pit in the ID region is formed so as to span across both the groove track and the land track. The first wobble pit and the second wobble pit are provided on both sides of the center line of each track, and they are spaced with each other in the direction of the track. Thus, since a larger width of the pit can be provided, production of the optical recording medium can be facilitated. Moreover, since the center of the track can be detected accurately by the first and second wobble pits, accurate tracking control can be performed.

TL;DR: In this article, the operating and other procedures of an optical disk application system of the type for which a netwcrk is used are simplified, by using the IDs to release the soft ciphers, using the cipher keys when sending the CPs, and using the decoding keys when receiving the Ciphers.
Abstract: The operating and other procedures of an optical disk application system of the type for which a netwcrk is used are simplified. Optical disks have auxiliary data recording areas, where different IDs for individual disks, and/or cipher keys and/or decoding keys for ciphers are recorded in advance in a factory. By using the IDs to release the soft ciphers, using the cipher keys when sending the ciphers, and using the decoding keys when receiving the ciphers, user authorization procedures are simplified.

TL;DR: In this article, an organic EL display panel with an organic light emitting layer having a uniform film thickness was proposed. But, the display panel was not shown to the general public, and it was only shown to a small number of people.
Abstract: The present invention relates to an organic EL display panel having an organic light emitting layer having a uniform film thickness. The organic EL display panel of the present invention includes: a substrate; linear banks placed on the substrate and defining a linear region on the substrate; and at least two organic EL elements aligned in a row each linear region, and, each of the organic EL elements includes: an anode placed on the substrate; a hole injection layer formed with an metallic oxide and placed on the anode; an organic light emitting layer placed on the hole injection layer; and a cathode placed on the organic light emitting layer. The hole injection layer is concavely curved or convexly curved, the hole injection layer is partly placed under the banks; and the organic light emitting layer is formed by applying an organic light emitting material in the linear region.

TL;DR: In this article, a method and apparatus for forming an array of microcavities in the surface of a metal film uses an excimer laser or an ultrashort laser which to produce a beam of laser light pulses.
Abstract: A method and apparatus for forming an array of microcavities in the surface of a metal film uses an excimer laser or an ultrashort laser which to produce a beam of laser light pulses. An optical mask divides the beam into multiple beams and a lens system focuses the multiple beams onto the metal film. The device operates by generating multiple beams of laser pulses of a first diameter and then magnifying the pulses by a magnification factor less than 1 to produce multiple beams of pulses having a second diameter, less than the first diameter, which are applied to the metal film. The magnification factor and the intensity of the laser is such that the fluence of the laser on the optical mask is not sufficient to cause ablation while the fluence on the metal film is sufficient to cause ablation. A diffractive optical element may be used in the device in place of the optical mask. The apparatus includes a quarter wave plate that converts the beam of laser light pulses into a beam of circularly polarized pulses. The apparatus also includes a device that homogenizes the intensity of the laser light pulses before they are applied to the optical mask.

TL;DR: In this article, an electrolyte membrane-gasket assembly for a fuel cell is presented, which consists of a polymer membrane and a gasket, made of a seal material, covering the peripheral portion of the polyethylene glycolic acid (PEGO) membrane.
Abstract: The present invention provides an electrolyte membrane-gasket assembly for a fuel cell, including a polymer electrolyte membrane and a gasket, made of a seal material, covering the peripheral portion of the electrolyte membrane, in which the electrolyte membrane has a sequence of a plurality of through-holes in the peripheral portion, and a portion of the gasket covering one surface of the electrolyte membrane and a portion covering the other surface are connected to each other through the through-holes of the electrolyte membrane. This assembly provides a polymer electrolyte fuel cell that is free from gas cross leakage caused by a detachment of the gasket from the polymer electrolyte membrane. It is preferable to further include catalyst layers carried on both surfaces of the polymer electrolyte membrane, respectively, and protective films covering, respectively, sections spanning from the peripheral portion of each of the catalyst layers to the peripheral portion of the polymer electrolyte membrane.
