TL;DR: In this paper, a prosody changing point extraction unit is proposed to suppress distortion that occurs when generating prosodic patterns and therefore generating a natural prosody, where the prosodic changing point is extracted from a prosodic pattern.
Abstract: A prosody generation apparatus capable of suppressing distortion that occurs when generating prosodic patterns and therefore generating a natural prosody is provided. A prosody changing point extraction unit in this apparatus extracts a prosody changing point located at the beginning and the ending of a sentence, the beginning and the ending of a breath group, an accent position and the like. A selection rule and a transformation rule of a prosodic pattern including the prosody changing point is generated by means of a statistical or learning technique and the thus generate rules are stored in a representative prosodic pattern selection rule table and a transformation rule table beforehand. A pattern selection unit selects a representative prosodic pattern from the representative prosodic pattern selection rule table according to the selection rule. A prosody generation unit transforms the selected pattern according to the transformation rule and carries out interpolation with respect to portions other than the prosody changing points so as to generate prosody as a whole.

TL;DR: In this paper, a home health care system utilizing a community antenna television CATV system controls two-way communication between a doctor's terminal in a medical office and each of a plurality of subscriber's terminals with the aid of a multiple channel access MCA system line controller.
Abstract: A home health care system utilizing a community antenna television CATV system controls two-way communication between a doctor's terminal in a medical office and each of a plurality of subscriber's terminals with the aid of a multiple channel access MCA system line controller. The line controller selects an unused communication channel to connect monitoring television receiving television cameras, sender-receiver terminals, and data terminals at the doctor's terminal and a subscriber's terminal, so that the doctor can directly interrogate patients at home, and the patients can be automatically monitored at home using images and voice by the doctor in the medical office, without hindrance to normal CATV broadcasting.

TL;DR: In this article, an electrode material comprising a combination of a compound having a disulfide group and a conductive polymer was presented, where an S-S bond was cleaved by the electrolytic reduction to form a sulfur-metal ion bond or a sulfurproton bond.
Abstract: The present invention provides an electrode material comprising a combination of a compound having a disulfide group and a conductive polymer, or a conductive polymer having a disulfide group, wherein an S-S bond of the disulfide group is cleaved by the electrolytic reduction to form a sulfur-metal ion bond or a sulfur-proton bond, and the sulfur-metal ion bond or the sulfur-proton bond re-forms an S-S bond by the electrolytic oxidation. The present invention also provides a lithium rechargeable battery comprising a cathode, a solid electrolyte, and an anode, wherein the cathode is made of a composition containing as its main components lithium thiolate having a sulfur-lithium ion bond capable of forming a disulfide bond by the electrolytic oxidation and a π electron conjugated conductive polymer; or a composition containing as its main component a π electron conjugated conductive polymer having a sulfur-lithium ion bond capable of forming a disulfide bond by electrolytic oxidation; the solid electrolyte is a composition containing a salt containing lithium, or a polymer containing the salt; and the anode is made of a composition containing as its main components aluminium or an alloy containing aluminium, and carbon.

TL;DR: In this article, a new index FCI is proposed for estimating the effect of feeling of contrast quantitatively under any light sources, which is derived using a simple transformation of the gamut area, constituted by a specially selected four-color combination in CIE LAB color space.
Abstract: “Visual clarity” or “feeling of contrast” of object colors under illumination is affected significantly by changing color-rendering property of light source used. Though the feeling of contrast is considered one of the most important characteristics on color-rendering properties of light sources, it cannot be estimated adequately by using the present Ra method. The new index FCI is proposed for estimating the effect of feeling of contrast quantitatively under any light sources. The FCI is derived using a simple transformation of the gamut area, which is constituted by a specially selected four-color combination in CIE LAB color space. The FCI correlates well with the illuminance ratio for equal feeling of contrast (or equal visual clarity) on various light sources reported so far. Using the FCI together with the present CIE Ra, the color-rendering capability of a light source can be well clarified. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Col Res Appl, 32, 361–371, 2007
